Watched the final episode of the current series last night which was a mishmash of previous episodes and how to turn a V6 Mustang into a Dodge Charger. What a load of crap. This series has with a couple of exceptions been the worst so far. Not sure where it goes from here. It can’t get any worse or can it??

I watched an old one from California yesterday. It was the Chevy Corvair. Bought for €2k, and all in at about €11.5k, IIRC.
The "buyer" didn't even drive the car! He also didn't know it was an air cooled engine, and even commented, "that'll be good for a California drought...", as if a water cooled car would use water like petrol. wobble
He knew nothing about the car he was about to "buy".

The "buyer" didn't haggle over the $18k asking price and " 'eld aaaht 'is 'and..." immediately.

Utter BS.

I just watched the new one where Mike “pays it forward” (or some such Americanism) and fixes his editor’s Mustang, except he doesn’t and the whole 45 minutes was just an excuse for an outtakes selection. Nope.
I'm watching that episode at the moment. Not sure it is worth it, as I'm not very interested in the outtakes.

I don't think the show is as good as it used to be. I watch for the 'spannering' of which there is getting less and less, because they now do a poorly done ''film' section at the end of the show. Many unanswered questioned too.

I also love how Mike finds all the local companies/specialists and they are all his best friend!

Think I’m going to be giving up on this now, been ruined.

Mike and Ants fake chumminess

To many American cars which I’ve absolutely no interest in.

When it’s an interesting Jap or European car all they do is either give it a service, or take all the interesting parts off to return to standard.

I gave up on it a while ago.
The worst part was seeing a car into which so much work had been invested, only to have some 13 year old Brewer go out and rag it without any mechanical sympathy.

I wonder how popular it is the US and whether they care about viewing figures anywhere else...

I don't know why the continue with the charade that they are buying and selling cars for a profit that goes into Mike and Ant's pocket or to be invested in a future car. It is such a pointless pantomime.

I understand that sourcing cars with "interesting" issues will always lead to a contrived buying process but the selling part is such pointless bks. They never list the true cost of all the parts, they don't even mention the mileage of the car! Even if they are genuine buyers, it's clear that the price has already been agreed and may not bare any resemblance to what is said on camera.

Why not run all the cars through an auction on the same day, make a 2 hr end of season special with a recap of each car and seeing it sell? Give all the money to charity?

Never thought I’d say it, but I’m pretty much done with WD after last night’s episode.

It wasn’t even watchable by skipping past Brewer and his usual BS to get to the good bits with Ant. It’s a bit depressing seeing what the show has become…

The auction is what they did on the programme Ant did with Phillip Glenister and it worked really well, was really interesting to see what profit was made, if any...

Or in the case of the 300zx give it to someone else (I wasn't paying enough attention as to who?) who cannot drift for toffee to repeatedly slide it off the track into the gravel. I was wincing!

I guess it makes Brewer pretty much superfluous to the show, other than "buying" the cars initially, if he's not "selling" them.

I think the worst part / episode for me was the Saab 9-3 Viggen, it had a coolant leak from the corner of the cylinder head, Ant then goes on to say that they have a known issue with the head bolts coming loose.

So they just replace the head bolts, maybe they did more off camera but that head should have been lifted and checked and a new gasket fitted, I could not see it lasting long after leaking for a while.

It is a shame how far downhill the show has gone and I think it is easy to see why Edd wanted to leave

I thought I'd missed something on that episode. Odd way to fix a leaking gasket. Hopefully they sell their cars with a warranty laugh

Would I be right in thinking that site is free for women but quite pricey for guys ?
To be honest the last thing I'd want as middle aged man is a young bimbo on my arm

Just tried watching last night's end of series show; truly awful and gave up after 20mins.
