I think the worst part / episode for me was the Saab 9-3 Viggen, it had a coolant leak from the corner of the cylinder head, Ant then goes on to say that they have a known issue with the head bolts coming loose.
So they just replace the head bolts, maybe they did more off camera but that head should have been lifted and checked and a new gasket fitted, I could not see it lasting long after leaking for a while.
It is a shame how far downhill the show has gone and I think it is easy to see why Edd wanted to leave
If I recall correctly, from my time as a Saab Aftersales Manager, there was factory Campaign launched to check the head bolts on the next visit to the workshop for any reason. So they just replace the head bolts, maybe they did more off camera but that head should have been lifted and checked and a new gasket fitted, I could not see it lasting long after leaking for a while.

The repair was just to replace the retorque the bolts.
Only if it subsequently leaked did they authorise a gasket change.

Maybe the bolts did fix it but regardless on a turbo car at the least you would replace the gasket.

I really didn’t think the show/Brewer could get much worse once he and Edd parted ways, but it has.
Ant is awkward in front of the camera and Brewer is a bigger arse than ever, and they have no rapport; it’s all fake bonhomie. Much prefer Car SOS despite Tim being a bit annoying.
It’s a global thing now thevUS viewers dwarf U.K. Ant is awkward in front of the camera and Brewer is a bigger arse than ever, and they have no rapport; it’s all fake bonhomie. Much prefer Car SOS despite Tim being a bit annoying.
If you dislike it as per those who don’t like Top Gear the remote control simply needs its button pressing to change channel and remove series link.

Perhaps you should also direct your supercilious comments to the others on this thread who also, quite legitimately, criticise the programme’s content and presenters.
It was meant for everyone - basically if you dislike something and state it’s gone downhill etc surely logic means you don’t watch it. I don’t like Ovaltine I’ve tried it far too many times it’s vile. As such I’ve now not had it for 25 years happy days.

Like when Ovaltine changed their recipe....
I usually enjoy Wheeler Dealers having seen all the episodes but Monday night's was just painful to watch. It just never flowed. I liked Ant when he did For The Love Of Cars with Philip Glenister and it was very interesting what they did on that programme. However on WD he has to contend with Brewer who is getting worse with every episode. I really didn't see the point to Monday's episode. What happened to the Mustang they stripped down? Was it ever put back together or did the editor chap just get given a Dodge Charger in return?

Ant isn't a bad guy, he was good on For The Love Of Cars and apparently his own "Master Mechanic" show is quite good too. I just think WD isn't being made for car enthusiasts who enjoy or are knowledgeable about cars any more. It's intended for the Iron Ressurection, Rust Valley Restorers audience that have the attention span of Trump's hand span basically. For me, like I said before, the show jumped the shark when they spent an hour doing a service on a BINI Cooper S. I gave up after that, content with the fact that there are people on YouTube making videos that scratch the itch of seeing cars worked on and being restored.

So do I but this middle aged man finds the personal stories too bloody sad sometimes!Mike acts like an irritating sod. I reckon Tim can't help it.

Agree with ro250, the personal stories can be very sad, but they make the result worthwhile at the handover.

To me, watching a favourite TV show for twenty years is like going out to a favourite restaurant. If you did that happily for twenty years, and then for whatever reason had a bad meal there, would your advice still be to walk out and never go back?
It just seems weird that some people think that if anyone has any dissatisfaction with any show at all, they should instantly give up on it completely and then never talk about it again, especially not on a discussion forum about that specific subject. If everyone actually did that, it would soon become very quiet in here, with just a couple of mad old fools shouting "if you don't like it don't watch it!" at each other.

That's a strange logic, tbh, and it's just the same in the TG thread.

I agree, but if your favourite restaurant changed the menu to food you really didn’t like, the service went downhill, and you carried on eating there for a few months to see if it changed and it didn’t, then you’d give up on it!To me, watching a favourite TV show for twenty years is like going out to a favourite restaurant.
