Agree with ro250, the personal stories can be very sad, but they make the result worthwhile at the handover.
I was devastated at end of the Delta Integrale episode, especially when all the other cars turned up at the handover.Yes, I check.

That's a strange logic, tbh, and it's just the same in the TG thread.
To me, watching a favourite TV show for twenty years is like going out to a favourite restaurant. If you did that happily for twenty years, and then for whatever reason had a bad meal there, would your advice still be to walk out and never go back?
It just seems weird that some people think that if anyone has any dissatisfaction with any show at all, they should instantly give up on it completely and then never talk about it again, especially not on a discussion forum about that specific subject. If everyone actually did that, it would soon become very quiet in here, with just a couple of mad old fools shouting "if you don't like it don't watch it!" at each other.
I’ve had what we’re lovely places to eat previously but then a poor meal but yes tried it again and actually 3 times in total now never going back period. A shame but it’s no good anymore. Car throttle is the way to go

And if you saw a forum where people were discussing the restaurant, you would refrain from posting on it? Or would you post "I used to go there and really enjoyed it but it has really gone downhill and I no longer eat there"? Clockwork Cupcake said:

Some posters go on the forum week in week out with a new episode and say it’s poor.
I wouldn’t keep going to the same place eating poor food after discovering it’s poor and poor 3 times

I just think WD isn't being made for car enthusiasts who enjoy or are knowledgeable about cars any more. It's intended for the Iron Resurrection, Rust Valley Restorers audience that have the attention span of Trump's hand span basically.
Yup, and the short attention span crowd also have zero loyalty to a show, meaning that anything trying desperately to cater for them inevitably dies a TV death.Brewer wanted to emulate the success of Fast and Loud, but even that has ran its course and several spin-offs failed to gain traction.
Edd got out at the right time IMO - the show's decline was inevitable when Brewer sold out the show (and his erstwhile business partner) to the producers of a string of disposable car shows.

Much prefer Car SOS despite Tim being a bit annoying.
So do I but this middle aged man finds the personal stories too bloody sad sometimes!Mike acts like an irritating sod. I reckon Tim can't help it.

Guy says most of these people were totally normal off camera but as soon as the cameras are rolling they became exaggerated versions of themselves.
I suspect that’s what’s happening with Mike and Tim.
Ant is a strange one. To me he seems to be trying just too hard. First he’s a copper. Fine. Youngest fire arms officer in the country or something. Ok. Career going somewhere. Then quits. Why? Does car restoration and building. Gets the gig for For the love of Cars, Philip Glenister took a shine to him, presumably said there’s money to be made in this TV presenting lark for a good looking guy like you so get yourself some TV training and an agent.
The next thing we know is Ant’s gone all Hollywood, I mean Paul Hollywood, and has left his partner and children and gone off with some American woman.
I’m sure he’s a decent enough self taught fabricator and mechanic but it’s all a bit too much trying too hard to be an alpha male for me. Which, I doubt will keep him awake at night.
Anyway, IMHO, WD jumped the shark at the end of the Edd era when they made the survivalist Hummer and the electric Maserati BiTurbo, amongst others.
There’s a gap for a programme about modifying vehicles, I’m sure there’s a gap for a programme about returning modified cars to stock but they shouldn’t be called Wheeler Dealers.

He has split up with that "American Woman" I believe.....or she left him?

I've met Ant at a Car Club dinner where he was the guest speaker, was really interesting to chat to, nice bloke. I believe he left the police force after being seriously injured during an arrest. I believe he was stabbed several times and was blinded in one eye during the attack. However my memory is very sketchy and I sure some one more knowledgeable will know. 56Lotus said:

To me that last episode seemed like it had been cobbled together to end this series as a result of COVID? I think one of the crew had a mask on in the background during the workshop Mustang bits.
It all seemed a bit odd and hastily thrown together so maybe they had a contract that requires a minimum number of episode for full payment

I think the whole series was filmed post COVID (just basing that on their Instagram posts). It all seemed a bit odd and hastily thrown together so maybe they had a contract that requires a minimum number of episode for full payment

Some the handover bits seemed to be, judging by Mike's beard! I'd assume some of the car purchases and work might have been before the restrictions?Apparently Wheeler Dealers is returning to the UK, with Ant being replaced by Mike Priestley (the chap from the WD Dream Cars series) as Ant will be staying in the US to be near his family. Filming somewhere near Bicester Heritage Centre.

Not a total surprise given the near impossible travel in to the US for non-citizens at the moment and it would make sense for Ant to stay stateside and avoid the risk of being stranded away from his family I guess.
