Episode 2, no way anyone would have bought that horrendous white SL with a totally different white body kit for 10k. Mk2 Escort is now SORN and the owner may want to update the engine capacity with the DVLA
That might be why it's SORN?Also, haven't watched the new trading up thing but does it have that disclaimer at the end of it saying that the work on the cars meet US regs?
I’ve watched both episodes now and I don’t understand why Mike ends up with these Frankencars.
The series 2 landie had a Td5 engine, the red painted badges were bleugh and Elvis painted the wheels a different colour to the hard top.
As for this week’s Escort. Seller says he’s kept it standard, apart from the roll cage, wheels, brakes, engine...
Why doesn’t Mike do another flip and make enough money to buy a better example?

No because it’s produced and filmed in the UK. Also, haven't watched the new trading up thing but does it have that disclaimer at the end of it saying that the work on the cars meet US regs?

Noticed the White Mexico in the Ford collection they looked at was the replica that was built of the original car, (despite what they were saying) pretty obvious when the number plate was H1 FEV instead of FEV 1H (I think Ford own both cars) as has been said above it's 2 for 2 on engine swaps, this one did have a link back to the car they started with though.
It's not bad to have on in the background and if it's getting people their 'dream car' then it can't be bad, at least once they have it they can keep it or sell to get another if they aren't 100% on what they end up with (though I think the Escort ticked all the boxes for the new owner)

I'm with the poster above in that a GTS is not a GTR
You're correct that a Skyline GT-S is not a Skyline GT-R. Neither is a Skyline GT.They are all Skylines though because, um, they have "Skyline" on the boot.
It was only with the current model that Nissan dropped the "Skyline" name and just called the car "GT-R"
Edit: Now, ok, if you're both saying it in the same sense of "The Mondial isn't a proper Ferrari", even though it clearly *is* a Ferrari, but you think it barely qualifies, then fair enough.

Not arguing with the whole 'Skyline' part of it, it's just that the whole set up was pointing towards a GTR, hero car of the movies, video games, etc, it was all pointing at a R not an S,
A bit like saying your dream car is a Cooper S and being given a Cooper, yes they are both Coopers but they are different cars.
