The Telegraph today declares its love for Mike Brewer.
Why am I not convinced?

Yeah I was quite surprised by his weight gain on Car Throttle, obviously living the American dream .
Isn’t it true he doesn’t drink as such that’s just big portions high carbs and well fast food. He could get down to 12-13 stone in a year or if really going hard for it before Xmas. Much check out some of those other internet channels.
Was getting in to the jonny smiths one but he gradually ends up a bit annoying. One with electric motorcross bikes springs to mind. Sound whisper quiet then foghorn loud.
I guess they have to keep banging the content out to please the subscribers they have amassed and the quality drops.
At least you can bench him for a while.
The people annoyed by mike brewer may have to take medication as he has taken delivery of a Porsche Taycan.

I hate the way Brewer calls people who have a different opinion on how they restored or modded a car a troll. In that light he's quite immature as everyone is entitled to an opinion if it's respectful and well-mannered.
For me the golden age of Wheeler Dealers was from 2008-2014. Then when Velocity bought Discovery and they started doing mainly American cars and turning on the USA cliches well it all went downhill. Then when they parted ways with Edd and got Ant and changed the production style well that was it for me.
Same with The Simpsons, Series 1-10 are the best and everything since was mediocre.

Especially given what he encouraged Edd to do to some of the stuff he bought.......including the Aussie Moke that he wanted to remove all the white painted stuff from.....and which Edd thankfully resisted....then he's heard at the end with the buyer saying it was all his idea to keep it. It doesn't matter if thats all scripted, it just proves he's a bellend for agree to make himself look like err............a bellend. The horrific chrome wire wheels and blackwall tyres on the Lincoln Continental was another taste horror show....
Mind you Edd wasn't exactly free of hideous taste errors on WD, changing the colour of Mk1 Escort from Tawny to yellow, and another yellow error, painting the '57 Chevy Ferrari yellow and making it look like a poxy New York Cab, and then not returning the Elan from boring red to Pistachio which he uncovered the original colour when rubbing it down.
I won't even mention putting a 4 bbl carb on the flatty in the pick up

If we're listing taste errors, don't forget the Impreza with their signatures on & the RX7 with the snakeskin effect wrap & dipped alloys
The RX7 was possibly their worst effort. I think any of the episodes where they took a decent car with almost nothing wrong with it, and then ruined it, are low points.
Other such episodes were turning a decent 944 into a track slag, and turning a Skyline into a drift car.

But, yes the Scooby signatures I'd forgotten about
And yes, the ruining of that nice 944 Turbo also was a low point in the series, again I'd forgotten about that one.

I have never understood why peple get so upset by it.
Because it is an action very obviously likely to cause damage to the vehicle. Would he take a hammer to it? No, so why plank his fat arse on it when his weight is likely to leave an imprint on the panel and even if the car is scrupulously dust free he could still scratch it?fking stupid and completely unnecessary thing to do and demonstrates the person doing it is either arrogant and doesn't care or isn't smart enough to appreciate the consequences. Brewer has been around cars long enough to know better so in his case it has to be the former.

It's not your car, and you're not going to buy it. I just don't understand why people get angry about this sort of thing. To my mind, it's a step away from getting upset when 'nice' cars are damaged in movies.

You'll find early examples of most popular shows are good, then turn great in the middle and generally tail off as they 'jump the shark' you can pretty much say that for nearly all TV shows. You're not going to dent a panel like that by sitting on it carefully or leaning against it.... jesus christ.fking stupid and completely unnecessary thing to do and demonstrates the person doing it is either arrogant and doesn't care or isn't smart enough to appreciate the consequences.
