Like this format of wheeler dealers as at least getting to see a fair variety of cars, the downside is seeing more of mike. The mk2 escort was brilliant. Some of the trades are fairly dubious.

Find it difficult to believe that old t reg van sold for 6k.

I would also be less than impressed with my dream car arriving with 120,000 on the clock even if well looked after.

The episodes may have been shown in a different order to how they were filmed, which might explain why that dealer seemed to have 'another' Bentley for sale.

When MB bought the Cayenne, he said something along the lines of "100,000 miles isn't too bad, and if you're going to do lots of miles up and down the motorway, a diesel is still the best engine."

Except the Juke he was given only had 35,000 miles on it, so the copper chap obviously isn't going to do lots of miles up and down the motorway.

If you're going to pretend to double your money so you can buy 'the cheapest Cayenne in the country', why not pretend to treble your money, and buy a decent one?

Refencing the first series with Ant, currently being shown on Quest, i'd forgotten about how Mike splashes out unrequired $$$ by taking a set of, what looked like either new or recently refurbished in original colour OZ alloys, and powdercoating them white "because motorsport" and to go with the spoiler laugh

But best of all is yet another example of the previous owner "buying" the car back after all the work's been done - in this case for $20,000 more than he sold it for claiming he just "had to have it back" regardless of the price thus setting Mike up for a big profit laugh

He did seem incredibly eager to buy it back at a huge mark-up, no haggling!

When it gets hard to find a suitable car telling a contact you will fully restore their car for 20k is probably seen as a good deal for both parties.

I very much doubt the seller even sold the Escort Cosworth in the first place.

A few over the years have made me wonder if the seller would really buy the car back, more like let us restore it for you.

"Fully restore " ?

Fix an oil leak.
Fit a controversial extra rear wing.
Rebuild the turbocharger.
A bit of paint on the front stone chips.
New wheels n tyres.

Not much of a resto.

BTW The car was an inbetweeney car, some bits of a big turbo model on a small turbo car.

I think the only credible "restore and buy-back" was the Porsche 914 that they did ages back.

It was a ratty old thing without an MoT that the owner (a farmer) just used on his private land, and was little better than a barn find. After the restore, it was a half-decent car and he decided to buy it back. Or so the show would have you believe.

At least it seemed credible, anyway.

It's funny, really. WD started out as "bodge it and sell it on", then progressed through to ever more elaborate restorations, and now seems to have returned to its roots, but not in a good way.

Currently watching Series 12 / Episode 9....the end of season compilation from the Stateside series and all seems

fine and friendly between Ed and Brewer on screen.

So everything went sour in series 13 as the newest series on Freeview is 14 ,starting with the Cosworth.

Was a little surprised Brewer didn't make a bit more of introducing Ant as his new sidekick after 13 series' with Ed.

So now it's in quest finally caught one of the Ant episodes.

Basically here is a car, I did this to fix it. Don't show Ant doing the fix, sell car. It is so dumbed down it's beggars belief.

Total horse st. I do love Mike's Facebook posts of him announcing how nice it is for him to block the haters, or in English. I don't want to hear critical feedback la la la la I'm perfect.

How many times did he have to say, "BMW E46 Emm Free"?

I liked the bit when he was on about shaking the door to check for broken glass rattling inside the door. I thought the drop glass was going to break!
Nice Emm Free, horrible wheels though.

I only caught the last 15 mins of it last night, where he was cutting the trim piece to fit around the clutch. Impressive work really, and of course I was then on eBay having a look for an M3 myself and noticed the marked difference in price between the SMG and the manuals.

But, what exactly was the point of that bit with the stunt driver in the car park?

Stunt driver bit was weird!

Also thought it was very sketchy where they showed the machine shop modding the gearbox. Almost seemed to be hiding what they were actually doing imo!?

Still, at least it was a European car and not some boring American thing again, started not actually bothering to watch those ones now

Mike brewer gets a lot of flack. He is the only bit that makes it like a proper tv show. Some bore mending things gets tired real fast. Just watch a youtube video there are plenty.
