Not a good episode for me either. Wasn't able to warm to Bill.

(On the other hand Heather can come back any time she likes.)

Kris Marshall.

Lord help us.
I like him, I'm not a fan of Capaldi so anyone would be better for me.

ETA: I would have liked the one from The Inbetweeners with the glasses and briefcase to do it though. He'd make a good sidekick too.

Strong rumours that Kris Marshall is the next Doctor...
These rumours are worth jack.
Until it's been confirmed in a self indulgent celebrity packed BBC1 Special hosted by I dunno Graham Norton/ Zoe Ball or knowing the BBC - Will I Am I won't believe it. And I will only know once they have dug up lots of old actors from past series of Dr Whowith witty recollections of their time in the show.
It must be Will I Am - he can do delayed anticipation like no other

Very nice but seemed a bit of a drip.

Thought it was a reasonable start to a new series, quite like Capaldi as the Doctor, been better than some we've had in the past.

I thought that was a good episode. Tension, humor and good "monster".

That may happen - after Heather sinks into the floor, Bill touches the tears on her face and says, "I don't think they're mine...."

Now I don't go much for rumour but it would be that they have played a blinder if Mr Capaldis last wasn't the last one of this series.

He said the other night on Graham Norton's show that he had 'filmed his character's death scene', but he will still appear in the Christmas Special ...

Good story, some nice background mystery and a neat lead into the next episode.

If they can keep this up, this is going to be a cracking series.

Anybody from The Inbetweeners would be good. Especially Carli.

Is anyone else finding the constant background music intrusive?

My telly has about a dozen settings for sound but I can't hear the dialog properly.

It's more like foreground music.

Didn't a tiny swarm of flesh eating robots disguised as shadows kill his wife? The Vastha or something?

Did he just give rise to the species of her death?

Ooh interesting...

Incidentally, this series has been far better than the last thus far. Enjoying it.

A couple of lines made me smile in the latest episode:

"I'm not Scottish, I'm just cross"

and then in response to being asked about Scottish in space

"They're all over the place, demanding independence from every planet they land on."

I'm sure there was a dig at Indyref in an earlier series as well.

No its the "Vashta Nerada" that killed his Mrs, they were microscopic bugs that lived in forests, these were robots created by the colonists, interesting thought though!
