Well this has really triggered some snivelling snowflakes.
Including me. I'm PH's number one leftie snowflake and I'm disappointed they've gone for a woman's that's obviously good looking. A missed opportunity.

Don't know why I'm engaging in this because it's idiotic but why is it okay for the Master to be a woman (everyone agreed she was great) but it's not okay for the Doctor?
For the same reason that a female 007 Bond would be wrong.

James Bond is a definitely male, HUMAN, charter.

Doctor Who is neither definitely male or indeed alien for that matter.

The real (and only) question is, is she right for the part in a character sense, not gender sense.

Most if not all of the previous Doctors have been somewhat 'off centre' in their real lives allowing them to create personas for the Doctor that fitted the part.

William Hartnell, Tom Baker etc etc

I look at the off screen personality of Jodie and wonder if she isn't a little too mainstream a personality. There's nothing even a little quirky about her in real life.

Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

So they stuck to the Broadchurch contact list then.

Time will tell if this was a good move or not.

I honestly never wanted a gender swap for the Doctor... But like with every regeneration, I'll judge on their adaptation

And she looks good in the unveil thumbup

Stopped properly watching it when Ecclestone left, not been fussed with the recent lot. There is the risk that they might be doing a 'Ghostbusters' but hey ho.

To be fair the Broadchurch list already contains an actual Doctor, a companion, a member of Yorchwood and a Xmas special villain.

That was sort of the point.

Plus the Broadchurch guy now running the show.

They don't do a wide search for talent do they?

Or maybe top line British dramas both want to employ the best British actors and actresses

Next DW could be a transgender disabled person of colour as far as I'm concerned.

But I'd love it if the standard of script writing got back on form.

Is this the right place to come to be outraged a children's TV show has changed something middle aged men don't like?
