It was ok.
But the regeneration.
You've spent the last 1000 years as a man and regenerate as a fit bird.
What's the first thing you do?
a) Start pressing random buttons on the Tardis dash?
b) Go and check out your jubblies for a little play?
TechieDave, over to you?

Tardis out of control and falling to earth. Seen that. Occupant falling, seen that. Hopefully Chibnall comes up with better than a few re-hashes of past re-generations but given the Actress and Show runner come from Broadchurch I am not holding out much hope.
To answer both of your posts:Adam you must have been fumbling for your pile of Kleenex on the armchair arm as had you concentrated you would see that the new female Doctor did not start pressing random buttons. She pressed one button directly and specifically. However as the Tardis had suffered damage from excess regeneration energy being distributed amongst it this SINGLE action caused to initiate a systems crisis with multiple operations failure.
telecast you may have seen parts before before and I can see your apprehension but you can simply give it time. When I first saw Matt Smiths appearance in the End Of Time I thought it was pretty grim but when his first series started he nailed the part in the 3rd episode
I simply hope that it comes back regenerated and with a sense of fun. I believe that Peter Capaldi has ended all his seasons on a high. By that I mean I find his 3 seasons finales to have been amongst the best episodes of any Doctor Who. Unfortunately he has had to put up with scriptwriters experimenting wildly with the character and unnecessary moral points being raised. His first episode with its not at all subtle lecturing on judging people was grim as can be. I also believe he has been flawed by simply being too old in the role.
Putting the failures to one side he has still managed to be involved in 6 (now 7 including this one) of the best episodes of Dr Who ever made
Adam if your question is of a more "personal" nature message me if you have webcam facilities

Erm...who or what is the single Dalek killing all of the other Daleks? Was it supposed to be Davros or have I missed something?

It's Rusty the Dalek the Doctor repaired/ reprogrammed inadvertentlyOR
It's an unnecessary plot ploy to simply pop a Dalek in as its a fan favourite.

It's Rusty the Dalek the Doctor repaired/ reprogrammed inadvertentlyMany of Moffats stories for Capaldi left me wondering why the Doctor was there at all. One of th drivers of the Doctor's story is that without him the tale would be different and probably not favourable to the Human race. A few times I had the feeling especially with the "Bill" character that they were writing a story that didn't need the Doctor. Left me underwhelmed. Rather like the later Sherlock episodes.

... Really struggling to think of a single one of (Capaldi's) episodes which would make it into my Top 20 of modern era Doctor Who.
But to be fair, he was just making the best of a bad job as the majority of the scripts were absolute donkey doodoo.Had they been better we would all now be saying what a brilliant Doctor he was. I honestly believe he could have been one of the best.

I only really felt the Doctor came into being at the end of his first series. His affection/ love/ respect for Clara showed through. It contrasted wildly with David Tennants/ Matt Smiths / Chris Ecclestones relationship with the companion.
Spoilers but I'm sure we have seen it otherwise we would not be commenting on it!
Reversed story telling as always. Cara seemed tacked on. Appearance of Matt Lucas was pointless. Peter was given crap stories and did his very best to make something of them but I always thought that special effects overruled stories whereas the 80s were the latter.
As for the thirteenth doctor...who knows. My only concern is that when I was a child (A few years ago I might add!) we would act the stories out in the playground etc. I don't think I would have done this if the doctor was an actress. This may also be a selling problem when it comes to Christmas. Apart from the nerdy fans it may die a death.
I can see this being a slow and agonising death with longer and longer gaps between episodes until it fizzles out quietly with a whimper.
Long gone are Rose and great episodes as Blink.

Personally I think it would be a blast if they did some one off specials with David Bradley as the first Doctor.
Perhaps re film the missing serials. Not sure how viable it will be but he was such a joy to watch
Yes, well put. I forgot to mention the time that they spent on the original TARDIS. It would seem a waste not to use it.Perhaps re film the missing serials. Not sure how viable it will be but he was such a joy to watch
