Just watching "School Reunion" with David Tennant and Rose.
It's epic!

Just shown how crap the new series really is.
Ha, me too. Gets me every time, that ending.
Same here.

Watched "Blink" again, What a brilliant piece of work. "It was raining when we met." , "It's the same rain." both played it so wonderfully and the simplicity of the empty bed just says so much.

I watched “Kill the Moon” the other day, and even that is a masterpiece compared to this series.

Had some feelings for the previous companions but the new ones I really couldn't care less. Thingy, thingy and Bradly Walsh.

Keep Walsh and dump the others.

Definitely agree with that. I cringed when I heard that Bradley was going to be in this series, but he has turned out to be the best thing in it.

I really think Bradley Walsh would have made a good Doctor. I liked him very much in Law And Order UK

Can’t argue with that, he’s a decent actor.

Having said that though he would have been another older actor going into the role and so after Capaldi unlikely to have been offered the role.

I highly doubt it would have anything to do with his age.

Rather good that one I thought.

Other than the New Years special, no new Who until “early 2020”. That’s pathetic. Relaunch a series and then give it a huge break. Regretting finally introducing it to my son.

Stolen from twitter.

2020's episode list:

1. Vegan velociraptors

2. Diverse daleks

3. Cyberpeople

4. Termination of toxic masculinity

5. Gender neutral newts of Neptune

6. The rightful renaming of MANchester

7. Quotas are great

8. Men are not

I thought Graham was squaring up to cut through the bullst, but he bottled it, she emasculated him.

Chibnall is massively behind schedule with his (mediocre) writing, so delaying until 2020 was the BBC’s only option. There are rumours that there are only going to be 6 episodes as well, before Chris and Jodie jump from the sinking ship.

Hmm. No. That’s not a fair criticism, the Doctor’s attitude to Graham murdering in vengeance is a core bit of the character.

Could they have replaced Chibnall, or brought in additional writers, to accelerate both pace and quality?

You only have to look at the ratings on IMDB which are voted for by thousands of viewers.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436992/episodes?seas...

The highest rated ep of this season was Rosa at 7.4. The lowest was the awful Tsuranga Conundrum with the tellytubby thing at 5.4. Last year with Capaldi the lowest rated ep was 7.1. The highest was a 9.2, there was a 9.0 and a bunch of 8's. Capaldi's worst was about the same as Whittaker's best. An 8 is a distant dream for Whittaker and Chibnall. Sadly it seems this season has been well received in that paragon of good taste, the USA. It only gets a fraction of the UK's viewers but maybe the money earned over there is out of all proportion to the UK. Well they voted for an orange psychopath so nothing else should surprise us. I can barely watch any of this season's eps apart from Rosa which I enjoyed. As far as I'm concerned they've killed it. Chibnall is crowing that it's been a huge success but I don't know whose ratings he is looking at for that. Now they're resorting to showing the Xmas episode at New Year so they don't have an entire year without an episode. Pathetic.

He was loudly proclaiming that he was going for a "writers room" approach - which was meant to deliver better, more fully rounded episodes.

The fact that single writers have been credited with each story suggests that may have fallen by the wayside? There have been mutterings that his planned departure is due to the BBC messing him about, I wonder if they forced him to abandon his plans for budgetary reasons?

Wouldn't be the first time the BBC have shot one of their cash-cows in the head.

Sadly though in the eyes of the BBC it’s a ratings success as it aired on a Sunday night with no competition on the other channels.

I enjoyed it.

The Doctors heart-on-sleeve pacifism is getting a bit tiresome however. I sometimes miss Capaldi's fire and brimstone.

I think we are guilty of seeing past Doctors with too much nostalgia and a selection approach to judging past episodes.

I caught some of the Tennant-era ones with Captain Jack and to be frank, they were bobbins. The only hiding behind the sofa going on was out of embarrassment.
