I didn’t even recognise Tegan. Nice to see them, not sure it’s really making any impact so long after their time. Now, if PD or SMcC accompanied them….

OK, Chibnall. You've got Sea Devils, you've got a pirate queen, you've got lost treasure. That's got all the makings of a rip-roaring adventure. How can you possibly fk this up?

Oh, wait...

Daft story, terrible CGI, rubbish camera work, so the usual then. Giving Yaz the same speech as Tennant did to Sarah Jane too!
And daleks and cybermen back again soon, what a surprise.

I’m surprised they didn’t do Dr Who after dark ala Hollyoaks so get rid of their “tension”.
And The Master survived the death particle left my youngest raging at the TV “just let him die!” rolleyes

They could at least have tried to make the lighting on the ship deck set look like they were outside

The overnight viewing figures are in.

2.2 million. A new low.

Beaten by the Antiques Roadshow on BBC2.

RTD has got his work cut out for him if he wants to entice the viewers back.

Perhaps the worst episode ever shown. Jodie reached new depths (pun not intended) and the acting was worthy of a third rate pantomime.
If the characters had strings attached it would have been just about in keeping with the backdrops and awful cgi.
Who is this tosh aimed at?, not at an old fart like me it would seem.

Comparing it to the Antiques Roadshow is very unfair. Antiques Roadshow a ratings juggernaut anyway. It's a bit like Murder She Wrote was back in the day in the states
Plus it was a warm day and night
In any case as long as Chris Chibnall and Jodie thought it was good it was good

Step 1

Just return to traditional stories...

spaceships

aliens

wooden sets

robots

Step 2

leave out references to anyone's sexuality or race, Doctor can be any sex or race, then simply leave it at that!

no idea whether any of the male Doctors where gay, might have been, so what, for all we know Tom Baker was a wife beater and David Tennant a tranny, they just never bothered to mention it (all the time) whilst fighting monsters!

equally no idea whether Uhura was bullied, might have been, but didn't stop her being there.

The world is a st place, full of dheads, we all know this!

Doctor Who should be a world where a load of people fight a load of dhead monsters together, without ever considering gender, race, class or anything.

Just fight the bloody monsters, in space!

Very confusing to comment on. An episode aimed at small children but with pointless violent deaths and hints at hot lesbo action.
People making this must st themselves in the production meetings as the person holding the purse strings is probably a severe looking woman in dungarees.
Why do they need a license fee anyway? they obviously make a show to sell around the world.
This week ,keeping the oriental world happy.

More info leaking out about Jodies final story.
As well as the return of the Daleks, Cybermen , The Master and Ace and Teagan another iconic foe from the past is set to reappear
The Kandyman who was last seen in The Happiness Patrol will be back to incite fear into the Doctor and her companions
Chris Chibnall writes : " It's always been a dream to bring this character back and I'm sure that viewers will love his reppearance as much as I do"

I'm normally the voice of positivity on this thread, but I truly can't think of a worse episode than that across new or 'classic' Dr Who. I still quite like Jodie and the Tradis crew, but the dialogue, plots, pacing and fundamentals of story writing are atrocious. It's almost like they came up with some interesting ideas (*1), then just threw them on the screen without actually bothering to write a coherant story to go with it.

(*1) Chinese Sea Devils and pirates are interesting, flying pirate ships and levitating Sea Devils less so.

Have you not been watching Classic Dr Who on Forces TV?

A lot of it was proper garbage.

They were made 40+ years ago and mostly aimed at children, with a nod to the adults. The vast majority of TV back then hasn't trained on.

You cannot compare them to anything made from Eccleston onwards.

The present mob have everything that the C21st BBC can muster and still can't build anything close to a coherent episode.

That wasn't my point, and by not quoting the post I quoted, the point of my post has been misrepresented.
