AD if you like Biblical epics this is ok...its a bit of a "B" lister for Actors and having Saul played by a guy with a broad Irish accent takes a bit of believing.

I'm really trying to watch War Machine but i just can't.

What's with all the cartoon general husky voice and stupid face pulling?

Does it get better?
I got the impression he was pretending to be somebody else, not sure who, some famous character I didn't recognise, but it just made him look stupid.

Just finished season two of Fargo and thought it was great. Very atmospheric and the acting was great all round but thought Kirsten Dunst and Bokeem Woodbine were superb.

Yeah, I gave up with it as well. The stupid voice put me off

He was emulating the real person who he was playing, and from what I've read, people who knew the real person said Pitt did a good job of showing his quirks.

I gave up too. Regardless of the voice, it was just dull.

I liked it. Generally I don't go for films where 'it's all about the journey' (because you know the end result) but I thought it was amusing and entertaining - very easy to watch given that it's essentially a true story. Fell into the same bracket for me as films like The Big Short.

So it was based on a real character? I thought so, no reason to act so bloody weird otherwise. I guess the dumb looking running was something to do with it too.

Just over halfway through American Odessey...quite enjoyable if you can ignore that Anna Friel is supposed to be competent as a special forces soldier.
Hmm. Ask us an easier one.
It turned out pretty well (and her being SF wasn't really the focus of the show anyway), but the ending was somewhat frustrating knowing that Season 2 didn't get picked up.

In summary, a good watch and worth the time, apart from the last 10 minutes of the entire series as it's been written to set up S2.

Rescue Dawn

Based on a true story. Christian Bale is a US pilot who gets shot down and taken prisoner during the Vietnam conflict.

Pretty good - held my attention anyway

I recently watched The Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. I thought it was a very good film and pretty amusing too.

Watched Command & Control last night.

About an incident with a Titan II with a ruptured fuel tank leaking fuel into a silo.

Well worth a punt.
Watched that last night - thought that it was excellent and a real eye opener about how close the US has come to a nuclear catastrophe.

Recommended.
Agreed. It was produced by PBS America, which has released a lot of very interesting documentaries over the years. The PBS channel is available on Sky, lots of repeats and not in HD, but still there is often something on there worth watching.

Did it feel like the feature length pilot/set up for a tv series to you?

Definitely as I was saying the same thing to a mate who's seen it. I doubt the two main stars will be in it (although who knows?) but I think it would be a superb series. Fingers crossed.
