It's been mentioned here before, but just finished 3 series of Rake.
Thought it was excellent, very amusing, well worth a watch.
Me too. There's a Series 4 that aired last year but, alas, is not yet on Netflix...

I found it hard to get into at the start, but hilarious after a while. I just rewatched the 3rd season, be good to get some more.

Something else from down under is an excellent series called Underbelly. About police corruption on the Golden Mile. Not sure if it is on Netflix, I shall have to look.

Yes, have seen some of that. Based on real life stories - didn't realise they'd made 6 series, think I only saw the first 2.

Watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople on the weekend. On the recommendation of a mate I then watched What We Do In The Shadows which was written/directed by the same guy. Thought both were excellent films, very funny and I'd recommend them both.

I think I watched two series, but then I thought it came to the end, corruption exposed, cops jailed, end of game. I will have to do research.

Probably old news to many on here, but I'm currently really enjoying Fargo (the series).

Agreed. It was produced by PBS America, which has released a lot of very interesting documentaries over the years. The PBS channel is available on Sky, lots of repeats and not in HD, but still there is often something on there worth watching.
Also terrifying to hear just how basic some of the early safety devices were. The engineer talking about the bomb that was dropped from a damaged aircraft and only one physical switch prevented a full yield detonation.

Ditto - has great character.

Also watched The Nice Guys - funny and good lines/acting, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yet I have seen on other programs that it is virtually impossible for a nuke to detonate due to caching fire, being dropped, rained on, in a truck crash etc.

The Titan 11 warhead was found in a ditch a good distance away after the explosion, intact, unexplored.

Call me cynical, but I struggle to engage in the "What if?" game. The simple fact is that the weapon had a safety device and it worked as intended.

Even the drama about the Titan II missile explosion in the programme seemed a bit overplayed to me - the best scientific minds in the world struggled for years to get a working nuclear weapon, you don't just detonate some uranium and get a nuclear explosion. The detonation has to be started and controlled in a specific way to get a nuclear blast.

As shown in the programme, you can detonate an ICBM's worth of fuel and oxidiser next to a live warhead and it won't necessarily cause a nuclear explosion. Still, not a good idea to do it, but not a guaranteed nuclear catastrophe even in that extreme scenario.

The other series are set before (60s/70s) and I sure the and there was a series set after the original - watched them all years ago so memory is hazy, the earlier set ones are very good.

Animal Kingdom, the Oz film, not the recent American series, is good as well - stars some quite well known names - Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton, Guy Pearce, worth a watch if you like gritty Oz stuff

and what the hell was the plot line of that Ozzie guy ?? he just seemed to go around looking for people all season then tops himself in the back of a car ?

.... I still have no idea whats going to happen in the last episode!
Just finished the penultimate episode. Felt like a bit of a filler / recap but WTF!!!!!! Will save the last one for later tonight.
laugh

I just watched the last one....

whistle

i slightly wanted Kevin to get away with it tbh... it was the worst season finale of something I've seen since LOST!

EDIT -

ALSO

who was the woman with Nolan all the time ? and what happened to Nolans mum ?

it seems as if some actors weren't signed up for this season and were randomly written out / swapped...

Just finished bloodline also. What a depressing mess. Loved season 1 too, the scenery was magic.

Episode 9 was a john stepping out of the shower several times over.

22 Bullets

Hugely enjoyable. European gangster thrillers have a gritty realism about them that makes them so much more enjoyable that the US equivalents - recommended

Has anybody mentioned Deep Fried Masters yet? Couldn't find anything with the search.

Great concept, not too over the top with forced drama like most american cookery shows, (some) tasty looking food, makes me want to buy a deep fat fryer.

Almost to the end of 'A Very Secret Service'. French comedy/drama about 1960's French spy agency. Only 20 minute episodes and some funny stuff in there.
