Did any of you ever watch Spotless? I might rewatch it, the 1 and only season was great.

I missed the shield. I think i started it but couldn't get into it. Worth another go?
The Shield is good, but you need to get past the terrible camera work in EP 1 (pilot). Once they sorted that out (3 hours in) it was well worth a watch. Oh, and look out for Forest Whittaker in later seasons, plays a great character.

If you like si-fi, travellers is good. Just found it and its on season 2, so got season 1 and 2 to watch. First episode was excellent.
I watched Season 1 and it was good. I don't know why I haven't sat down to watch Season 2.Davie_GLA said:
POLAR - I put this on not expecting much as a bit of background noise but it was absolutely brilliant. I laughed out loud when little britain turned up and almost switched off but it worked in a perverted kind of way.
Beautifully filmed, had a "Happy" (the series) feel about it.
This is why Netflix is excellent, they know exactly what they are doing and i hope that they are ready for Apple and Disney when they get up to speed.
I hated it. As a previous poster said, it feels like two films vying for attention.Beautifully filmed, had a "Happy" (the series) feel about it.

However I love that Netflix are commissioning this sort of film. Polar would never had got to the cinema, and the major networks wouldn't have made it. It wouldn't fit with Disney and Apple's service either.
This has got to be great news for the young, experimental movie makers out there.

Only just noticed The Good Place has restarted
I'm not enjoying the second series at all. The first was so creative, with some excellent 'locations', however the second series seems to be entirely based in an office. Quite poor, which is a shame.I think The Santa Clarita Diet is due back soon - first series was an absolute riot!

Watched Polar last night, wasn't expecting much but as a brain-out action movie we both loved it (though Mrs B had to look away a few times). 7/10
Also we recently finished Sex Education, another surprising hit in this house, considering I'm pushing 50 I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did - good characterisation and storylines made the setting immaterial really. Also a lot of gentle humour helped. 8/10
Looking forward to S2 of Suburra in Feb, if you haven't seen S1 now's the time to catch up - Italian Gypsies, gangs, guns, political and religious corruption set in Rome. In Italian but well worth a go.
Also, really looking forward to Velvet Buzzsaw in Feb (trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdAR-lK43YU ) - watch out for the monkeys!

I enjoyed that too. Filmed in Caerleon apparently. Right mash up of aesthetic - Wales, US school style, 80s, modern tech etc - but it works in a funny kind of way.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
