Anyone watching Love, Death + Robots?

The standard of animation is pretty incredible - I’m from the generation of thunder cats and he-man. I was genuinely blown away by the way these looked.

I’m only 6 in but they’re very watchable, it very sweaty, violent and dark.
Yep, They are very good. The first one was graphic gore and the second one is almost porn! Both are quite interesting. They are kind of like Black Mirror but in Animation.
The first one - monster fighting lesbian love-kill looked the best so far but I enjoyed the one in the freezer and the one with the cats and robots.

I’ll grt through some more later.
That first episode was written by Peter F Hamilton. HIs books are quite amazing. That episode was easily my favourite.

Amazing series though.
I'm also up to about no.6. Pretty good overall, most of the animation is very impressive.
Erect Penis...never thought I'd see that in a cartoon on Netflix.
Just read that the order you see them in is random (not down to the users sex) according to Netflix.

Beyond Aquila- I can’t believe that those weren’t actors with some minor texture mapping.

Love Death and Robot I supprisingly enjoying it and alot of the time just sitting there think WTF were going through their head when making this!
Just started this, absolutely booody superb.
I can't make up my mind. The animation is absolutely stunning, the stories not so sure. Something I never thought I would say : I think I'm a bit too old and am far out of their target audience wink

Amazingly realistic.
The ones with Clown makeup (The Witness, I think) the people moved and looked real.

Some of it is really screwed up.

Can we have a Ricky Gervais thread elsewhere?

I can't fking stand him or anything he's in.
I don’t like him as a rule but Afterlife is fantastic TV. REALLY funny in places and incredibly heartfelt in others.
I don't like him either, disliked The Office and most of his other stuff, but being a miserable sod myself the premise of this appealed so thought I would give it a go, watched all 6 in one sitting, blubbing by the end
Same here, discovered this last night and rinsed it in one sitting... If you have never seen Derek then give that a go - that was equally enjoyable. Never got on with 'Extras' but admit I enjoyed the Office back in the day...
Just watched After Life - produced a few laughs but its not brilliant. Worth watching overall though.

His wife was bloody annoying though.

I’m so intrigued as to how you think his wife was ‘bloody annoying’???

I was thinking the other day, soon there won’t be any need for real actors with animation like that!!

It’s clever but even more so today, I’ll take the real thing. Have you seen the tech where they make an old actor look young. Very impressive.

Have been thinking this since FF- Spirits Within, which now looks like a game cutscene!

Yeah CGI is everywhere in films these days- Making Xavier or Samuel Jackson look young is the obvious one, but they add extra hair, remove tatoos, etc all the time. Can't remember the rather sedate film, but the guy who plays Hawkeye in the Avengers had his arms replaced in post production after he broke them!

The animation on that robot thingy is incredible, I'd like to see a "making of" at some point.

I got the impression some of those films where with real, actors just with a digital effect overlaid on them to be honest

Same here, slow and boring. Sonny the Bull got that name due to his appearance too. More like a stiff breeze could blow the character over.

Bad Blood could be worth a watch if you want to see something based on a powerful mob boss, hardly a classic but enjoyable
