Just started on S4 of Line of Duty.
I have really enjoyed Line of Duty up to now but it's jarring in this season how utterly terrible the acting is. It's like they are doing a pre-read of the script wearing their costumes for the show! Or been given one take and that's your lot.
I'll keep going because it's intriguing.
Maybe Martin Compston just isn't a particularly good actor, or he's being badly directed... it really jarred me the first couple of seasons, then after a while i just got used to his deadpan delivery.I have really enjoyed Line of Duty up to now but it's jarring in this season how utterly terrible the acting is. That said, I do quite like it, but the plots are edging closer and closer to jumping the shark territory, it's all just starting to get a bit hard to believe, but it is still a telly show at the end of the day.
My own opinions on it are clearly very mixed

Can anyone tell me if The OA gets any better? I've just watched Series 1 episode 1 and it's as dull as ditchwater. Please tell me it perks up.
Step. Away. From. The. OA.Honestly I consider it a worse resolution than 'Lost'.

It was always pretty poor but seems to be worse this season - usually Dunbar is decent but even he's struggling with the dialogue. And don't get me started on the Vicky McClure's overuse of the phrase "Ma'am"!That said, I do quite like it, but the plots are edging closer and closer to jumping the shark territory, it's all just starting to get a bit hard to believe, but it is still a telly show at the end of the day.

The Dirt - Motley Crue DocuFilm. Was decnet and i liked the interaction with the audience. I don't pretend to be a mega fan but looking back through the wiki's seems to be relatively close to actual events. I'm sure the film barely touches on a lot of the madness but it was wewll shot and enjoyable.
Based on a biography by....the band, exec producers were....the band so I suspect it shows them in a favourable light but....A good way to pass a couple of hours, they epitomised 80s rock excess and the film does a reasonable job of telling a story (seems to lose it's way a bit about 2/3rds through, as did the band at the time I suppose) with a lot of humour and style.
Ozzy's accent is terrible though - sounded like an Aussie Ozzy more than a Brummie Ozzy.

I had 'The Dirt' downloaded on iPad so watched it last night, thought it was pretty good overall, that 80's Sex Drugs and Rock'n'Roll really was crazy if the film is halfway accurate, never been a massive fan of the band as such but have to admire how they actually survived that lifestyle!

Triple frontier ? Ben Affleck ex-soldier heist romp.
The trailer promised so much ....
We were going to watch this the other night as the trailers looked really good but so many disappointing reviews put us off in the end. We try not to follow reviews re what we do and don't watch but many of them were saying the same things about the problem with it. The trailer promised so much ....

Just watch it anyway, it's not that bad to be honest and is worth a punt if the telly is ste.Brads67 said:

I watched and to be honest it was pretty decent. I had low expectations and found it to be better than the reviews had me believe
It was ok - except it is basically a story of how a bunch of super elite bad ass soldiers turn into morons and behave in a way that has you wonder how they made basic training, let alone special forces, etc. Fun enough though.Tiggsy said:

Japanese language zombie action
Looks beautiful, the zombies are very convincing and the story is better than most zombie series. 4 in, and I’m really enjoying it!

Saw it when it was first released to Netflix, fantastic big budget series and completely original. a mixture of The Walking Dead meets Games of Thrones set in the Far East several thousand years ago
