Couldn't agree more, love the music too. Lickey Tea Rooms is now the Rose and Crown about 300 yards from my house. may pop by tomorrow for some of that chocolate cake from that scene!l

Not for me I'm afraid. Really enjoyed the first episode primarily, becauseof the atmospheric scenes of an industrial Small Heath. One episode on, the inconsistent accents, dire dialogue and bizarre sound track, just make it painful to watch.

I'm out.

Got a sort of 'Sapranos' feel to it.

ETA.Just come off night shift so the above statement could be just ramblings.

Thought it was quite good, something a bit different from the countless detective dramas that grace our screen. I've watched both episodes so far and will keep watching. The outdoor set designs are very effective too.

Watched episode 2 ,missed the first.
I really enjoyed it and the soundtrack also.
The accents didn't register with me as I'm a Londoner and don't understand anything north of Watford. smile

Accents are atrocious for Small Heath, far too much of the broad Black Country accent (that everyone incorrectly refers to as the 'hated' Birmingham accent) in them.

Yeah, maybe just my taste but I think a Jack White soundtrack is a great addition to a show set in any era.

Enjoying the show.

Don't have a problem ignoring the accent accuracy. Sam Neill isn't totally murdering the NI accent, not a bad effort.

Think its great, really building to be tense.

Everyone goes on about the accents, thats really not what is most important. They aren't spot on, I say this as a brummy, but I don't much care, if you watch the story its all good.

Just watched the first 4 episodes back to back on iPlayer and really enjoyed it. It's a little slow at times but the production values are top notch and the acting/script/story is very good.

The accents have steadily improved as the episodes went on (they've toned down the black country 'yam-yam'), and that's coming from a brummie who was born and raised just down the road from Small Heath.

Oh, and the music is a definite plus point also.

6/6 series just finished. I thought this was very good. Absorbing story, some surprises, superb production, good soundtrack, excellent acting. And no ads. What's not to like.

It shows the BBC can still do it, after such b0110cks as Atlantis.

Wonderful finish to the series made even better by Jack White's version of Love is Blindness. Series 2 commissioned too.

Enjoyed it very much. The ending annoyed the wife some what, much to my amusement.

Is she dead? Who got shot? Is that it? Etc Etc
