Peaky Blinders BBC

Absolutely loved it, best thing on television for some time. I do have mixed feelings about this though:

From the link - Mr Knight said: "I am so pleased we will be able to continue to tell this story of a working class family living through extraordinary times in an extraordinary way. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-24...
Great TV but not sure that's how I'd describe the Shelby's...

Not impressed myself, but, I am hard to please!
I find it hard to think of anything on lately that has been any better than Peaky Blinders. What would you say was better then? I can give you one though. Fargo.
PB is glossy, when it should be gritty. The characters are dreadful. This gang would have been comparable with the worst of society now, probably worse in fact.
The scene in the first episode, where the girl was singing in the bar, was just plain corny!
Also, 11.25pm is a slot for 2nd or 3rd rate programs!

Agree that the singing was corny, but it was a plot device designed to see the main protagonist become attracted to the girl for the first time, so I can forgive them for that.
