Fun fact which might be spoilery :

I watched S4E3 "Once removed" a couple of days ago, the one with the estate agent who said the weirdist thing he'd seen left as a present was a box containing a paint tin, in which someone had left a poo.

Then in this episode Darren talks about taking a st in a paint tin....

Great first episode, really enjoyed it and really good to see Mark Gatiss again. Can’t believe how prolific they are in making these things and maintaining such a high standard.

I love the way you start to watch one of these with absolutely no idea what it could be about and it just carries you along. Some are better than others but overall I think they’re brilliant. A bit like the superb Black Mirror in that regard but for me Inside No 9 has more charm.

Usually I go online after watching them to find what other people are saying as I usually manage to miss loads of subtle stuff (again, similar for Black Mirror).

Really looking forward to the rest of the series.

I have to be honest - I didn't get the ending....

Had he been on the boat on his own all the way through? Or had the otherers survived and he had died....if so how did he die?

He died, probably lying next to the shrine where he fell asleep. Being on the rowing boat and bringing up the coin to pay him was 'paying the ferryman' and he heard his dead wife's voice. When he asked about the others and was told they were on the other side, he was dead, they were ok. That's how I took it and they say the same themselves in Inside Inside No.9 on BBC Sounds

Thanks thumbup

That was what I was guessing but I couldn't understand why he died and it seemed a sad way for it to end

hypothermia after being in the ice cold water / wet clothes? It was mentioned during the episode that anyone who jumped in would freeze to death because of the cold

Thats how i concluded he died anyway.

Arr yes - I wondered that.. he did say 'I've been watching you for sometime..'

Just listened to the inside No.9 podcast on BBC where they talked it through. Great series opener and a nice twist as always.

Didn't spot the hare, but I'll probably give it a 2nd viewing.

Happy to admit I didn't get the ending.

Now I've read about it I do, but if it needs explaining then it means it missed the mark for me. I realise that may be because I'm not smart enough or not paying enough attention.

I didn't see the hare even though keeping my eyes peeled. I did however recognise the filming location fairly near to me as Buckland Park Lake, between Reigate and Dorking

just about got the gist of the last act.

diane morgan is much thought of by casting directors but, sadly, essentially plays
the same foul mouthed slattern in all her appearances.

Really enjoyed tonight's episode. Similar to Whicker Man I thought and very good.

This was shown at 10:30pm after the show. A BFI Q&A about the first 2 episodes

And one from a few years ago about the Dead Line live episode

Honestly I'm just not getting this. I gave it another go with the Mr King episode and within 10 minutes I was absolutely bored to death.
