Some of the acting’s a bit iffy.

Given the guy clearly has mental disabilities would they be able to question him like that.
And if ihe did say anything would it be considered credible or submissible.

Mental Health decreed him good to be interviewed

Well that kind of sets the scene. Will need to watch it again and again and again to make sense of some of the clues. I see the old Kingsgate Printing Services shop front made a fleeting appearance.

I thought that. I'm no BMW nerd, but noticed that the grille surround of one car swapped between black and chrome a few times.

Perhaps. As a standalone first episode I would have probably thought it was great - it's a victim of the high standards it's set for itself I suppose. First episode is usually an absolute belter with loads of action, setting it up nicely for the intense interview scenes as the series moves on.

Remember though this is the longest of all the Series so deliberate I’m guessing in doing a bit of a slow burner.

But most if not all of this has been filmed "under Covid" so I guess they have not been able to do some
things they might have wanted to.

How on earth was he supposed to answer the questions? Surely it should be obvious that a Down’s suspect would have serious difficulties understanding what he was being asked? I would have thought that once plod asked the question in plod-speak, she’d have then asked it in plain English so he at least had a chance of being able to answer.

Also it seemed strange nothing seemed to come from the shooting. Surely that was unauthorised and would be thoroughly investigated, unless that’s coming up in future. Anyways, more importantly, when did Arnott develop such an acute love of the pie?

Just a bit! Either badly written or just amateur level delivery.

Obvious echoes of Jill Dando / Barry George here.

I thought that.

Kelly Macdonald was awful. I have no idea how she has won various acting awards if that is her usual standard.

I thought a few others were terrible as well.
