thought maria had a tag so how could she go to a hotel?
Its OK in CorrieLand everything makes sense. She probably rang the authorities and got permission for a night of nooky with Aiden. Still at least Eva got a night in a posh hotel and Maria got to stay out late drinking in the Rovers whilst her kid gets his own tea again.coppice said:
Rosie looks more and more like a blow up doll - and not in a good way(actually , I am not sure there IS a good way ? ) The Bethany thing is pushing the bounds of credibility at the moment but I predict that the number of children christened Nathan will take a dive in 2017...
I agree. The Bethany storyline is ridiculous. If she's that unhappy with her relationship she can go home almost whenever she wants. I can't understand why she is so frightened to tell anyone, or what might happen if she leaves Nathan. If she walks out of her home, and he tries to approach her in the street, there's any number of men she could call out to for help - Kev, Tyrone and Luke in the garage next door, all of 15 yards away. Dev in the corner shop, about 30 yards away, Robert in the bistro at the end of the street, it just goes on.Her attitude to her problem is unfathomable. I suspect the writers have written themselves into a corner.

Their idea of tackling 'serious issues', yet all the nonce cases are white men.
I pointed this out ages ago, really in the news at the moment and corrie pick reasonably affluent white men to like a bit of schoolynicanary said:

I agree that it may seem ridiculous but having read about some of the stories of young people who have been groomed and subsequently abused, I find it believable (just). The emphasis is on the grooming which is key to what follows. I suppose in this case they are stretching credulity given that Bethany wasn't exactly neglected and hanging around street corners before it started, and Nathan isn't exactly the "type".Her attitude to her problem is unfathomable. I suspect the writers have written themselves into a corner.
It's blatantly obvious that Nathan the white salon owner is a substitute for Najeed the brown takeaway owner. It's supposed to be a serious subject yet stretches credibility when it's so PC it's farcical. Nathan is far more likely to be peddling drugs and laundering his proceeds through his salon than trafficking young girls, it'd have been more believable if it was one of her teachers grooming her but those instances don't usually involve sharing kids around.

TV had a searingly good drama on child sexual abuse by Asian men this week - 3 Girls .
And let's not fall jnto the trap of thinking child abuse of this type is not perpetrated by white men too.
it is but not at the epidemic proportions of Pakistani menAnd let's not fall jnto the trap of thinking child abuse of this type is not perpetrated by white men too.
Last night during peak viewing time, ITV showed a trailer for Corrie involving Nick - I'll say no more because I don't want to spoil things for those who didn't have their evening wrecked by this insensitive decision.
I'm really hacked-off about this. Why do they do it? AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!
(PS It's yet another completely ludicrous plotline. Par for the course these days, although I thought some of last week's episodes were well back on track.)
