Is Craig a real copper
No, a Special constable, working a few hours a week (Hobby Bobby)

They have exactly the same powers (Unlike PCSO's), as a regular copper but are volunteers and work unpaid.

(One of my sons was one for three years before he joined the force full time several years ago)

The video was made in 1995, so she would have been 18 at the time. She's 40 now. I think she will age well, she has good cheekbones and an attractive face. The toyboy storyline involving Luke wasn't all that far-fetched, as I think most men would find her becoming, though most might live to regret it.

Will Bethany get through to the plod before Nathan returns to the cafe? Will Craig turn to Neil for help in tracking down the couple? Will this thing drag on for ever...........?

Finally she gets it, enters the room and announces, My name is Bethany Pratt, and I am deluded.

Hopefully this noble but dreadfully executed plot line is over.

I know that police cuts have resulted in staff shortages, but isn't it a bit weird that nobody notices Neil's odd behaviour in and out of the station? Surely it's not normal procedure for a sergeant unconnected with child abuse cases to sit alone in the observation room without comment from his workmates? Corrie really has dealt with this story pretty poorly.

Agreed. He never seems to do anything or be supervised. Plus he is allowed to interview her "off the record" with no tapes etc. Stretching the suspension of disbelief a bit too far. It's a shame as this storyline had the opportunity to explore a very delicate subject but the massive gaps spoil it.

Isn't our Bethany over the age of consent, and if so given that she agreed to all the deeds laid out before her is there a case to answer?

If the above is true is the cop guilty of anything other than having sex with his mates 16 year old girlfriend.

The pressure applied to the lass by the cop not to dob him in is another thing entirely.

So even if Bethany tells all what can be done legally?

Age of consent is increased by 2 years to 18 where one person is in a supervisory position or position of power over the other. So teacher/pupil, social worker/client, doctor/patient, police/alleged victim

He went off to do other acting roles but have yet to see him on TV since.
Alison King did the same, she is back soon I heard.
