The most ridiculous element to those two is how did that gormless gurning ginger pull that 10/10 lass. Only in soapland!
He's not doing too bad in real life either!"So... what attracted you to this famous ginger?"

I remember reading that he's on £100k(ish) a year too. Not too shabby eh!
Considering the popularity of the show, the advertising revenue it must generate, the number of shows, etc, I'd say it was pretty lame. Salaries can therefore range from £12,000 to well over £200,000 depending on popularity."
I wonder how much time they actually spend on set too? I reckon I could stomach taking £100k a year for 50 days work and being able to generate more though sponsors, promotions, instagram, appearances, magazines.

"Across Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders, the pay structure is the same: actors get a fee per episode, which can range from £400 to £2,000, with a guaranteed number of episodes a year (as few as 30 or as many as 100) and a repeat fee.
Salaries can therefore range from £12,000 to well over £200,000 depending on popularity."

But have you taken losing your soul and self-respect into account?Salaries can therefore range from £12,000 to well over £200,000 depending on popularity."

The Street has a notoriously tough regime when it comes to profitting from an appearance in it. There is limited opportunity and if you step out of line your character may meet with a nasty accident . The income comes after you leave - see Reg Holdsworths's decades 'long double glazing (is it ?) campaign.

£100k a year and a hot girlfriend for pretending to work in a kebab shop. That's not bad at all. What would he have if he really worked in a kebab shop?

I'd say £100k is about right for a major character in one of the most top viewed (I'm sort of assuming it still is) programmes on TV.
If anything, I'd say that was a little light given the salaries of some of the BBC actors/presenters.
