Personally I’d say if you haven’t seen BB then avoid BCS. I’ve only gone through BCS because I was hoping for more of the BB Saul. It is just about getting there now and about to end. I think the incredibly long and slow backstory would be too tedious and pointless if you were not constantly waiting for that thing that triggers the emergence of BB Saul.
Although I'd argue that the majority of subjects / stories / relationships and characters in BCS are very different to those in BB (the cross over is pretty minimal). BCS is alot more 'L.A confidential / L.A Law' as opposed to BB being more comparable to Ozark / Sopranos content.
Although obviously it's mostly about Saul, what BCS reveals about Gus's and Mike's back-story is more significant plotwise to BB.

What are her reasons for not wanting to watch it?
Usual perfectly reasonable women perspective stuff — eg “I don’t like the look of the cover photos” then (later) “urgh is that the one you keep telling me I should watch” followed by “I’m not watching it because you keep going on about it”
I'd just put it on (avoiding the start credits) and let her get hooked. laugh

20 mins later… “are you sure this is Emily in Paris?”

Was it ever addressed why he was working in a Cinnabon? (As per S1E1 opening scene?

Although that video only makes sense if you’ve seen Breaking Bad laugh

The Cinnabon scenes are in the future after the disappearer bloke in Breaking Bad makes him disappear.

Can’t wait and absolutely gutted at the same time.

It’s been too long since the last series and that seems to be happening more and more with shows that I started watching when I was in a totally different phase of life and yet a few series in, I’ve changed a huge amount. The networks must be risking losing a lot viewers who’ve simply moved beyond some series now.

Gutted that it’s the last series though.

I don’t see Kim getting out of this. A couple of series back Jimmy said that he’d open a free law service for those who can’t afford it to sue big business / rich people or something like that as a throwaway line as a tribute to Kim. That’s exactly where he was when we met him in BB

Kim will disappear at some point, then last scene will be her walking into Cinnabon

Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack during filming though which I’m assuming is why there’s a bit of a longer delay.

I’m currently re-watching from the beginning with my wife as she didn’t watch it first time round. Forgot just how good it is, from the writing, casting, acting, direction, everything is first class. And although it’s tied to Breaking Bad, it stands on its own which is equally impressive. Will be gutted to see it over and whatever revelations take place.

Best to avoid trailers. Nowadays they just spoil it by revealing too much.

True, but there’s still been long gaps in recent series. Series 1 &2 were a year apart, then it was 14 months then 16 months, 18 months and finally 24 months (Covid and heart attack valid reasons for delays).

It does seem an age since the last series. Just watched a 10 minute recap of season 5 and I'm glad I did as I'd forgotten most of it.

Thank for that, very useful as I couldn’t remember much. I like this guy, I may use him again to consume some shows I never got round to watching hehe

As brilliant as Breaking Bad was, I think Better Call Saul was as least as good. Looking forward to the final season when it lands in the UK

Thank you for that. I had forgotten most of it. It also reminded me how great the program is and it’s a shame this is the last series. From a story perspective they could probably jump to after breaking bad if they had wanted to carry on.
