Was that a car completely on the wrong side of the road as Harry was tipping into that bend?
Yes I saw that too! I rewound the clip to take another look - eeek!I had a W12 GTC from new. It was a superb car and I thought, as a Vanquish owner, it was a far better car than Aston could ever build. Not only a serious motorway muncher, but deep attention to detail in the cabin, every knob and switch felt high quality. It was a lovely place to sit and a genuine GT rather than a sports car. I was happy wafting with a bit of 'woof' if I ever needed it.
Crewe's missile.
I would definitely have another Bentley Continental, I'm a big fan.
I've competed in sprints on and off since the late 80's in my road cars, it's a fun cheap way to enjoy the cars performance whilst getting some competitive adrenaline pumping.
High 150's MPH is not hanging about on the back run at goodwood, it might have been quicker on the standard road tyres in those temperatures though.
You should do the POM in the car Harry.

Harry has some big balls on those initial runs, pedalling that Jag in the cold and wet conditions using Cup 2's!! I get he was using all wheel drive, however from experience those Cup 2's hate water and low temps especially when you giving it some stick!!
Great video..

+1 really enjoyed it. Really takes his time, talks you through it, shows enthusiasm. Not like all the fake enthusiasm in others/endless cuts.Great video..

Harry's channel is in a class of it's own for me.
Harry was not hanging around on his runs - careful yes, slow no.
I was post chief out a Lavant and it was great to see his level of commitment on the cold tyres - while keeping it on the black stuff. A wonderful sounding car at full acceleration starting down the straight. Look forward to next time in dry conditions Harry!

£1600 for a set of tyres was my takeaway, ouch.
More than my car cost, ouch, enjoyed the video however.Gio G said:

The 4wd would certainly stop some wheel spin. I found cup2’s very pretty good in the wet as long as there wasn’t standing water…they don’t have the groves to clear puddles.Great video..

4wd isn’t the be all and end all…it aids traction but there is no more cornering grip than a 2wd…it is just a contact patch.
Enjoyable video. Harry’s comments on his lap times in 1993 and the state of the track back then reminded me of an autocar track feature from the same year - Harry’s 1 min 42 put him 6 secs ahead of a 205 GTI driven by John Miles on a flying lap. Admired the guy with the Corsa SRI. Vauxhall get a lot of flak on PH but fair play he turned up in a stock 20 odd year old corsa and it did the business. The race prepped 205 GTI went well too, 2 secs behind Harry…all in all a fascinating feature.
It should be faster now but I found the times really interesting. My Dad used to sprint there practically every other weekend in the late seventies through to the mid-eighties. He used a variety of things but mainly Clubman’s cars (Phantom and a Gryphon for those that know) - he was doing 1.32’s in the 1600 Kent engined car and 1.25’s with a 1700. It looks to have been a slightly longer lap too because they used to start/finish from the old start line opposite the paddock entrance rather than the pit.
Now, he did have slicks, but they were second hand, cheap, crap slicks and the car was c.700 bhp down on the Skyline!

Indeed 600hp, cold cups on a damp/wet track and a heavy car going over 150mph on the back "straight" that isn't that straight chasing time was very impressive but in a sensible I know my limits way.Great video..

Both his channels are treat to watch, very enjoyable.
