Getting fed up with this now.
Multiple episodes dragging out a story, when all people want is the story in one hour. Leave the filler on the cutting room floor please.
I’m with you on that. The documentary makers will get paid for every minute of screen time so the padding now is ludicrous. Constant recaps and filler, plus the overdramatised music in some of them really annoys me. I quite often look up some old crime documentaries on YT and they are a pleasure to watch in comparison, especially the old Crimewatch Files.Multiple episodes dragging out a story, when all people want is the story in one hour. Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but there is a new two part documentary on the Arlene Fraser murder on iPlayer. It is drawn out but worth watching.

Watched that on iPlayer earlier tonight. The footage of the lad being transported to the police station was infuriating.

The AI technology that helps ID a face from 100s of hours of CCTV footage is a brilliant tool, talking of tools, we have the age old adage of if that all criminals were smart the cops would never catch any of them, this tool stabs a lad then hangs around the area, getting involved, on multiple cop body-cams, in getting help in the attempt to save the victim.
Of course he has a smorgasbord of alphabet behavioural disorders that will probably feature as a part of his defence.

The AI use was impressive and must have saved hundreds of man hours of work but also slightly dystopian, Amazon recently had to roll back in America their partnership with Flock after backlash from the superbowl lost dog advert.

The killer was a psychopath, imo he should never be let out as he will always be a danger.
t like that will go down really well on the inside About 10 minutes into the program it shows a map on the cops computer screen with markers for a lot of cameras, too many cameras to be public owned, do the markers represent private ring doorbell / CCTV cameras? Makes me wonder if they have access to private owned cloud based camera footage..

I haven't watched this, but maybe it is indeed private cameras. I had a link I got that I registered my outdoor camera with for the Police in case of future use. Was a while back so can't remember where I got it.Edited by Jules Sunley on Tuesday 3rd March 10:00

Before that it did show door to door enquiries including the phrase ‘is your cctv working’. Most police statements these days during the initial phase does have a plea for dashcam or doorbell footage.
But yes, great use of AI. Sad to see - kind of get the feeling that everyone was failed leading up to this.

Yep, given he admitted it, surely there is an argument for the death penalty here? This kid is highly likely never going to contribute anything good to society and will always be a drain on it.Megaflow said:

Forensics: The Real CSI BBC2 now, is the case of the 12 year old boy who was stabbed to deaths last year.
Another really good episode tonight, worth catching up on. oobster said:
I agree. When I read the subject matter I thought it would be a bit boring but it wasn t, was good to see 3 of the 4 getting decent sentences at the end.
4 years, 8 years and 10 years, wasn't it?Out in 2, 4 and 5 years roughly.
What are they going to do when they get out? School crossing patrol or stealing? There is half a million pounds still missing. I wonder where that is? They, and anyone who watched the programme last night will have got some useful tips - gloves ALL the time and dump your rubbish down the council tip - not in the wheely bin of the house where you are staying. Dispose of the equipment you use safely, don't leave it in a house or car that can be traced back to you. And so on.
I never think that the fact that the crims are going to do time is a result, because the cost of keeping someone in prison is - what? About a thousand pounds a week? The houses they were living in seemed very pleasant - I wonder where they got the money to pay for those houses?
