One of the 24HPC classics was repeated last night on maybe More 4 - the blackmail one where it was rather close to home for the investigative team and had an absolute rotter of a prostitute as the side show.

Nothing beats the insurance scamming consultant episode obvs
My 2 favourites.

That doctor still ranks as one of the biggest tts I've ever seen on TV.

Watched the BBC forensics one about the girl beaten up and raped in a phone box last night.
Bloody evil angry man they caught for it was going to ruin someone's night one way or another.

I prefer investigative style programmes rather than the ones with reconstructions.
You get to see the real process & offenders... watching 'em crumble.

Inside the arrest & Faking it too... you get some real 'wronguns' on them.

Episode 5 season 8 “The detective and the surgeon”

Anthony McGrath (the surgeon), unsurprisingly made an ofcom complaint which was not upheld.
Great episode, but doesn’t cover everything that was going on.
Reading up, it took a long time to reach trial and seemed to involve more than what was shown.

The surgeon was sentenced in Jan 2019 so he'll probably be out of prison now. I wonder what he is doing.

He got eight years, with a further five if he didn't repay £500k within three months.

So he's possibly still in chokey.

100k tax free a year? When he’s thrown any chance of a decent job ever away? Deal

It’s a bit of a funny one…

I have put his name through the GMC Registration System and get one hit - for a Doctor who qualified in 1996 in Ireland (which fits with this chap) and then looking at his ongoing registration history, he disappears from the register in June 2020 and then appears again in March 2026 (which fits broadly with this chap, as he was sentenced in 2019) but is then now re-registered.

This currents registration comes with eight conditions - more based around telling the GMC what he is doing and where he is doing it, opposed to clinical / medical / prescribing issues - so one naturally concludes he’s back Doctoring.

GMC Medical Number;

This is obviously on the basis this is the same Anthony McGrath as featured and convicted, and not someone with an identical name.

That is strange, I assumed he's end up working abroad somewhere. Hopefully he's got some more control over this ego.

Watched an old episode yesterday, the guy who chased the robbers off his drive and hit them with his Mercedes.

Absolute madness he got 22 months and the scrotes got nothing. Did some searching afterwards and found a GoFundMe raised him £170k but still - ridiculous. Even the Police seemed to think it was reasonable what he did and would probably have done the same.
