The Now Show is due for it's revolving slot again soon.
Am I alone in thinking that Hugh Dennis simply isn't funny?
I haven't found The Now Show funny for a long while. There's something rather self-congratulatory about it, a bit like The Mash Report - they're just so swept up in the brilliance of their biting satire.

I think he's confusing his 'talent' with his choice of material as an excuse. He should go on tour with Michael Legge; that'd be a night to stay indoors for.

Likening himself to Bob Dylan tells you all you need to know about his opinion of himself. Utterly unfunny.

wasn't it Nish Kumar who had the skit about Brexit has already been tried once - when the UK left India? IIRC that was quite funny. WRT this, I'd imagine that as soon as you start abusing your audience you're onto a loser

Dead Ringers returns tonight.

Usually good for a laugh.

Plenty of ripe material too.

Dead Ringers. Spot on as usual. A master class in satire. Other BBC producers would do well to take note.

Can they also take note of the fact that whatever impression John Culshaw does, it sounds like John Culshaw?

The latest series of the News Quiz is being hosted by Nish Kumar. This is not a good thing.

Could we worse - they could have commissioned another series of Count Arthur Strong.
Or 'Fags, Mags and Bags'. The nadir of the 6.30 comedy slot.

Now I don’t mind Fags, Mags or Count Arthur. I’ve actually got the first few series of CA on CD. It has worn a bit thin latterly I admit and the TV spin-off wasn’t anything special.

I gave up on the News Quiz and the Now Show years ago though.

FBM is brilliant, but yhen I realised long ago that I share no tastes with nonsequitur whatsoever.
