I suspect Ms Rowling has been watching Dr Who, given Redmayne's quirky character and a suitcase bigger on the inside!

The Autopsy of Jane Doe. A good horror film if there's one.

Just watched this.

It's a strange one. It's well filmed. It rolls along nicely, captures the chaos of the shoot out (in which there was a small amount of blue on blue)

One of the interesting things is they very carefully intermix actual footage into the film itself. For example the surveillance footage of the brother buying food in the gas station is the actual footage of the real life brother (not the actor in the film)

https://youtu.be/rKclqyDTmlw?t=1m1s

The footage of them walking down the street prior to the bombing is again the actual footage.

It's engaging because you know its a true story. The people involved. The FBI in charge, the Governor, The young lad who was car jacked. The couple that lost limbs. They are all interviewed after the film ends and it's clear they are OK with the films portrayal of them.

However.

Walberg's character is a fabrication. I know WHY the makers did it to try and join the 3 parts of the film together. (pre attack, investigation, capture) But it's unnecessary. He's too important to the story (which in real life he wouldn't) and it detracts a little from the real life investigators. If the character had been important at the start and then faded away as the investigation moved along, it would have felt more realistic.

I liked it despite that. 8/10

A United Kingdom.

Cheesy & predictable, but as the facts of the case were (almost) true:

7.5/10

(Bloody UK Gov bds as usual)

Shallows

Film about a female surfer with a nice bottom vs a cgi shark.

I wish I could muster the energy to say more about it, but on the basis that she as a 10* arse in a 1* film, I will settle for an easily forgettable 5/10.
I thought it was ok apart from the cgi. I'd give it 7/10 for the film only.

Train to Busan - 8.5/10

Loved this, super tense, superbly well made and manages to somehow be entirely devoid of gore whilst at the same time feeling quite gorey, very clever.

Awaiting the inevitable Hollywood remake but as is often the case, there is no need, this works perfectly as it is.

Who framed Roger Rabbit.

All these years on, it is still utterly fantastic, I give it a 10 out of 10

As for Jessica Rabbit, I'd give her 1

Thought it was a decidedly average B movie with the usual Korean cheese on top. Very poor.

Watched Rogue One again last night. Christ that Felicity Jones is utterly charisma-free in that film. It could have been better...

A tad....some good points, but, as you say, 'a bit much.'
I don't know how they can fix this, since it isn't really one hing, just a general...'meh' feeling. I hope they can. At the least, I hope it doesn't leech into my fave MCU stuff, the GotG2.

The Wicker Man (again I know) but the Horror channel is showing the longest cut with all the added scenes.

I did not know there was a longer cut!

Blackthorn, a brilliant western along the what if line of Butch Cassidy.
