Octopussy.
Then the wife found an utterly dire thing on movies 24 that was something to do with a man and a woman, a Labrador and a fatal illness.
Cannot for the life of me remember what is was called - but it was somewhat better than Octopussy.
Did you at least wait for the scene where Bond steals an Alfa GTV6?Then the wife found an utterly dire thing on movies 24 that was something to do with a man and a woman, a Labrador and a fatal illness.

The Circle - totally forgettable waste of time
Ghost in the Shell - not aware but felt like an underdone good novel
Table 19 - Hilarious in parts, particularly the starting 15-30 minutes, great casting
The Hippopotamus - I don't remember Fry being this funny when I read it, maybe they cut some of the crap out and made something decent of it :-)
Beauty and the Beast - Kids wanted to watch it, we all tried really hard, turned it off before the end, rare for us to do that

THe death of the father of the modern film zombie made me look at his filmography last week, there are some films in there I've not seen and some I'd like to revisit.

and the Tarzan cry / swing. and the twin knife throwers. and the fact that it's basically a racists guide to India....
and do you think other countries portrayal of the UK/USA/West is any better? It's a product of its time, we're now (hopefully) better. Just out of curiosity how would you view Indy and the Temple of Doom?SpudLink said:
I saw it in an IMAX cinema, and I thought the sound was superb, with no dialogue problems.
I can't think of a better film I've seen in the last couple of years. I don't generally like war films but I would give it 10/10.
I started watching it on TV last night, from a rather dubious source I won't mention, but I switched off halfway through as it just seemed to be three separate rather tedious stories playing along very slowly. Maybe on the big screen it might be more exciting, special effects etc, but I honestly found it rather boring. Which is disappointing as it has had a lot of hype. However, just because it is about a rather noble part of British history doesn't automatically make it a classic, I don't think.
ETA: I would rather watch it on the big screen but our local cinema is some ancient stinky flea pit. Across the road they are building a multi screen mega movie house, so fingers crossed that is okay, and they control the gobby young shytes who insist on talking and texting all through the movie.

Surprised by that. It pretty closely follows the original animated film which I guess pretty much everyone with kids has seen by now so what was it that made you switch off and not see through to the end, I'd say it's not like you didn't know what you were letting yourself in for. Or perhaps it's just that your kids are that much older than when you saw the original and you've grown out of it?Me and SWMBO watched it on Sunday afternoon and both thoroughly enjoyed it (although bizarrely I find the animated Belle more of a belle than the Hermione Belle).

Dunkirk.
Brilliant film.
I then walked out of the cinema (Telford - the IMAX is the closest for me) and became very, very sad for the future.

You'll be a statue next to the dinosaurs in the park in a few hundred years,
I only go to the IMAX - I did the shopping centre once. Never again.
