A very poor pedant because that is 7 months.

I must admit I really , really loathed this film.Paper thin plot , cartoon violence and gratuitous girl on girl action with Cameron Diaz not enough to redeem a generic pile of tosh. Like an 80s MTV video which lasted 1 hour 52 minutes too long .
You loathed it so much that you've misplaced which actress is in the lead role.

TBF the reasons you loathed it are the reasons I loved it; although I don't plan to watch it again anytime soon.

Isn't it true (and I'm open to correction) that William Friedkin thought it would be too much hassle to get permits for the car chases, so just filmed them without asking, on a Sunday morning when it would be quiet, IIRC?
wikipedia has some insight on the chase on the FC page.

American made.

OK fully went with expectation that Tom C was not going to win an Oscar, but this was an enjoyable movie.
Remembered some of the history portrayed too - it's a wild tail. And the audience was laughing loudly during the film at points.
8/11

As a contrary position -

The Infiltrator.
Brian Cranston -again in another based on true story film- gave a good performance of this risk taking undercover agent.
8/11
Two stories are linked - told around similar time frames.

I watched that in a Cyprus with Pentti Airikkala. I was driving Pentti around for the week on the WRC round as he wasn't so well, so I was his driver (no pressure) and one evening he said to come and watch a video he made in Paris that no one knows about.

So we go into the TV room at the hotel and he closes all the doors and curtains, says don't tell anyone about it and started the video.

He was a proper piss taker, great bloke sadly no longer with us.

I thought this was a better film than I expected, the scene with his wife in the restaurant really gave an insight into the double life that these agents live. I'd go up a notch and go for 8/10

Hitman's Bodyguard:

Reasonably fun film - 7/10 - predictable, good couple of one-liners here and there, SLJackson is his usual MOTHERF-K-R self, Ryan Renolds is Deadpool-lite. Easy watch.

Split.

Guy with 20 schitzophrenic personalities kidnaps 3 girls, they try to escape. Somewhat cheesy, but the star actress had an intriguing appearance, no idea of her name.

6/10

Logan Lucky, a crime caper starring Daniel Craig as you have not seen him before playing a red neck bank robber. Very funny in places and there is a motoring theme as they are planning to rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway so there is some NASCAR footage. 8/10 from me for this one.

Swiss Army Man

Watched last night as its free on Prime. Very strange film, nothing like anything I've seen before and not my usual genre.
It's funny, bizarre and generally very WTF!

I enjoyed it....... I think.

Life

Thought it was quite good, nice thrilling alien sci-fi, a tough genre to rate in

Arrival

Enjoyed this, one of the better what if aliens land films, love the concept behind the aliens experience of life

Colossal

wk, this was described as a comedy, it went dark and creepy, it didn't know what it wanted to be

Gifted

Excellent film, Steve Rogers was really good as was the kid, loved the ending.

Not quite the comedy I expected - but as above I really enjoyed it. Nice quirky little film

Winters Bone Good movie. I fancied there being a bit more tension or explosive personalities to back up the reputation of certain characters but otherwise a good tale, well acted and shot. 7/10
