Hannibal.

Obviously an old movie, but still pretty creepy and weird. The part where he is cooking the guys brains and feeding them to him........ hurl

Goldfinger. Just as I was thinking I've probably ridden some of the alpine roads they were driving around he pulled in to petrol station on the outskirts of Andermatt with view I definitly recognised along the valley and past the campsite where we wimped out and didn't stay as it was very exposed. Bond definitely got better weather there than we did biggrin

99 Homes - another laugh-a-minute from Film4 last week set at the height of the property crash. Not a terrible film, but the end just petered out a bit.

I remember seeing that at the ciniema and wanting to applaud the screen. Like something from an extreme Korean film, but in a mainstream Hollywood product.

I am embarrassed to say I watched this last week with my daughter. I tried to keep it quiet but you know what it's like when you've done something wrong and you should really own up to it.

SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE.

In our house we refer to this as an ironing flick. Sadly my wife or daughter will watch something like this with half an eye and a half a brain while ironing. Mildly entertaining with a few laughs but far from quality!

4/10

0h the shame.

I bought the 4k restoration of Terminator 2 and we watched it tonight. It looked as though it was made yesterday! Still a fantastic film.

The Foreigner

Jackie Chan puts his highly choreographed style to more gritty use in a Liam Neeson style old man revenge plot. Quite watchable and quite enjoyed it. Interesting to pick on an old bogeyman closer to home than more common jihad or North Korean foes these days.

Dunkirk

Fails to capture the scale of the event with just a few hundred extras. I doubt the beach front was in that good a nick and the whole thing was covered by around half a dozen aircraft. However, I enjoyed it overall and felt they got the point across focusing on smaller things - a couple of officers, a story of a handful of soldiers, a couple of pilots, one civvy boat. Was the Stuka sound genuine? Sounded amazing and scary played loud through a mediocre sound bar.

I agree with all your points but was fantastic on the big screen with a decent cinema surroundsound. It really made it!

Baby Driver Better than I expected, some ok if over the top chase scenes and a reasonably coherent plot.

Europa Report

Saw this a couple of nights back on a random Freeview channel. I'm guessing not good enough for a cinema release but pretty good for a bit of suspense sci-fi. With an interesting ending.

6 Days on Netflix about the Iranian embassy siege in London

I can't recommend it at all. Even with a half-decent cast, it's pretty dire. Kate Adie is a lot more attractive than I seem to remember but that's the only highlight.

Unfortunately the incorrect seats in the train at the end spoiled it for everyone.…

Love Actually 3/10

It's one of 'our' Xmas Films.

I don't really 'get' it.

I find the Gift Wrapping Mr. Bean irritating, not funny.

Liam Neeson and and Alan Rickman seem like Film Stars stuck in a Daytime Soap.

Martin Freeman only ever plays one Character, Martin Freeman.

Stacy from Gavin and Stacy offers two highlights.

Why is BT Ad man even in it?

Rick Grimes is a snake in the grass isn't he!

Bill Nighy is probably the best bit of it.

The less said about Hugh Grant as a sort of bumbling Tony Blair the better really.

1 Point for Nighy and 2 for Stacy.

Was considering this but apparently it doesn’t have the 4k directors cut, just the theatrical version which is a real shame. And no Atmosphere or dts x, just a poxy 5.1.

To me, you are talking in another language. I feel like I should know what you’re talking about!
