The Marvellous Mrs Maisel.

Just watched the first episode of the first season...just incredible...fantastic script, acting and sound track. Really funny....REALLY funny story of a Jewish housewife who’s wanna be stand up comedian husband leaves her for his secretary. So she decides to try stand up for herself. Looking forward to episode two.
It was very good to start with but tailed off dramatically, think about episode 4 or 5.
If you persevere, let me know if it gets better. smile
I thought the first few eps of Mrs Maisel were fab. Really clever stand up comedy when she 'let go' when off her head. Sadly, she stopped letting go. Downhill all the way after that. Such a shame as she was really funny and original when pissed.
My better half’s favourite show, it’s less original as it goes but the gags are still funny

We're enjoying "Casual" as a half hour comedy. I sort of recognise the lead actors, but need to look them up.

Watched "Molly's Game" when the wife was out at the weekend. It's a dramatisation of the true story of Molly Bloom who ran high stakes Poker games:

A directorial debut for Aaron Sorkin. I enjoyed it.

I've started watching James May in Japan, and while it is entertaining enough I'm finding it a bit "been there, done that". Despite his claim in the first episode that he wasn't there to do the "oh, look how strange Japan is" schtick, but to discover the real Japan, he's then done snowball fighting, fishy ice cream, Penis festival, etc. All the usual "weird" stuff.
It's pretty much the same as Sue Perkins' Japan travelogue the BBC did a year or so ago.

Found a film today that starred Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughan called Dragged Across Concrete It’s about two cops who get suspended without pay and decide to find a way to supplement their income. Very gritty and a rather novel plot. Not for the faint hearted.
Ah I saw that advertised last year and fancied it. It was described as out-Tarantinoing Tarantino. I'll put that next on my to-watch list.

I finished Bim in Japan. I enjoyed it, but there wasn't much new there. I thought there were too many attempts at Haiku's too, it got boring. I liked how they put in bits with the film crew, that was more interesting and natural to me with them trying to get through some parts of Japan together rather than setup everything like the food on the train bit.

I nearly went for it the other night, but it's long. I'll get to it soon.

Has anyone seen I Am Wrath? It sounds like Travolta trying to take a role that Liam Neeson turned down...

I watched Dragged Across Concrete this afternoon, but I thought it was turgid and utterly dire.

I am finding it difficult to find something that I want to watch. Just finished another series, here is my watchlist.

Under The Dome
Haven
Lucifer
Hell on Wheels
Black Sails
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
The Mentalist
Lethal Weapon
House
Alaska State Troopers
The Boys
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan - Season 1
Justified
The Man in the High Castle

I am trying to find things that have been completed, so I don't start watching something only for it to be cancelled half way though

Someone suggested it to me awhile ago but forgot about it.

+1 Took a slightly twisted imagination to come up with this one, I though it great but it had marmite reviews and sadly a series not renewed.......

I suggest Bosch. Season 6 will be along soon and they have just announced there will be a season 7 but that will be the last one.

An excellent series I would highly recommend giving it a go.

Yep, excellent series. Another Stephen King based one if i remember correctly. Second season was out not that long ago but would not rate it as high as the first.
