This is what really pisses me off about prime right now. Even the free to me tab brings up stuff you can only watch part of. They also keep changing things to free then back again, the shield went free to pay and back to free, do start to watch and hope it will be free long enough to see it all?
What am I paying for? Free delivery and half a TV service? At least with Netflix wysiwyg.

Set in Berlin. Brutal and 3 episodes in, entirely believable.

1st 2 series on Prime with option to pay for 3rd. Watch with English subtitles...not the rubbish dubbed option.

8+/10 so far..
Thanks for recommending, enjoying this so far.
Sad to report that AP have deemed it better to have the 2nd series only available as dubbed in truly awful American English.

Completely ruined it... frown

Really? Excellent!

Is this something we'd need to do ourselves or is it a universal fix - I really, really hate dubbed foreign TV.

Yes I was surprised too! hehe

You'll need to check with your own player but I'm hopeful... wink

Greenland.

so they spend 9 months locked underground in bunkers in Greenland. You know, that very cold place up north.... during an end of life impact event. Which would make the sun disappear for at least three years, maybe more,,.... within months Greenland would be totally frozen over and the weather in summer would be horrendous. They would never get out of those bunkers, and if they did, all their transport is gone, destroyed. They would freeze to death. .
If we are talking of plotholes. Yes this and also that America is full of bunkers and other places that you could hole up so the only options aren't Greenland or death, particularly as the USA is even further away from the impact site. Also re the kid if they were stopping anyone with type 1 diabetes going there why would they stock his medication?, did you see any pharmacies when those doors were opened?, so he's dead in reality. IMO a better story would have been they couldn't get on the flight so the guy used his knowledge as a structural engineer to find them sufficient shelter and then they stock it. Basic premise OK, execution poor.

I'm very surprised at the positive comments over Greenland, I wanted to bail at several points, but persevered because PH. I didn't make it to the end. I thought it was garbage.
There is a sub genre, the disaster movie, and in that sub genre it isn't the worst, that distinction goes to 2012. That is a mind-numbingly awful film.

This mostly wastes an interesting premise imo, but has some decent moments. Ranked it 5/10 and I am a fan of the genre.

The main thing about 2013 I remember is being surprised/ impressed that you think the ships are spaceships, when in fact they are just ship ships

This was great - watched it over a couple of days this weekend. Assume that there will be another series at some point.

Don't know if it has been mentioned already, but the short TV series Upright with Tim Minchin is really excellent. We got through it all in one day. Funny for the most part and devastatingly sad in the final episode.

I enjoyed Greenland. Predictable, disaster nonsense following a pretty standard format, but it was watchable.

I’m not going to make it! Only started season 1 yesterday, watched the whole thing plus the first two episodes of season 2. 2 more already today.

I’m off work til Wednesday so, will see how many I can binge by then! Only 36 episodes to get through before the paywall arrives 😂

It helps as I am working a block of late shifts at the minute I sat up until 2am this morning watching them. Got to the last episode in season 4. So I might just about do it.

Then I will need to find something else to watch...

Things i've watched....

Greenland (as someone mentioned, Kermode gave it a nod in the right direction, without giving loads of praise) and my wife and kids (13 & 15) actually found it pretty watchable.

It had enough moments of dispair and anguish to distract from the actual realism, although the ending was a little bit of a letdown, but for a Covid release, not a bad effort, i'm sure shortcuts had to be taken in post production.

Now watching Life in Pieces......thoroughly simple, done before, but works and works well. 20 mins of easy watching whenever you want. Thoroughly recommended.

Still on Lucifer as my personal guilty pleasure, totally sexist in the visuals (scantiliy clad women aplenty) ..but i'm a man living in an office where i'm outnumbered by women 7 to 1 so it's a bit of escapism for me lol!
We really enjoyed Life in Pieces, nice short episodes when you want a laugh. Few home truths too smile
Was sad when it ended but switched to Modern Family which is also good and gets better with each series (Watched 8 so far).

Lucifer was good and fun but the last series didn't have the pull any more, maybe we got bored of it.

I liked Greenland, seems the reviews were either 1 star or 5 stars smile
