I've not watched it, but I'm not sure why everyone was so optimistic in the first place.

I see that Coming To America is on, but seems to be lined up for a release in March of a sequel, Coming 2 America.

I realised I hadn't seen the original, so made a start last night whilst the missus was on her weekly night out. (To the supermarket.)
Did you finish it?

It's a great film.
I have to say I’ve never watched it until this thread. “The royal penis is clean” had me hooked. Very funny and Murphy at his best. Such a shame he went Markle and believed his own press.
Second one is on Amazon today.

Friday night brain out entertainment film sorted thumbup
I appear to be in the minority to actually like it. Its not going to win any awards but its enjoyable nonsense.

It was watchable enough, typical garbage remake with characters and guest apearances rammed in. The eldest daughter is a stunner.

Best laugh was at the end with sexual chocolate.

agreed -

So Prince/King jaffa & his wife from Queens suburbia america, simply allow the suppression of womens rights, careers and dreams and "son as an heir" line, for 30+ years because previous kings all did, but as long as at the end of the movie he can say "can you forgive an old fool" its all ok.....

I'm amazed that anyone watching CTA2 was expecting more than a few laughs. It was enjoyable fluff for a couple of hours, I've watched far worse that was taking itself seriously.

The Rental

Even the wonderfully fragrant Alison Brie couldn't save this comically dreadful thriller/horror flick.

Four slashers out of ten bumps in the night.

BBC I Player....full series currently available, Terror, the dramatised story of two ships attempting to create a North West passage between the Atlantic and Pacific. I found it fascinating a tale of sheer bloody determination. Having been icebound for 2 years decided to walk out pulling large rowing boats 800 miles to open water.

I have since read the story and whilst the tv series is dramatised the core of it is true, absolutely staggering what people did then.

Black Sun. Serbian crime drama. Decent plot but with a fiendishly complex period backdrop that requires some focus, not a casual watch. The historical political context is fascinating. It's very highly rated so I gave it a go, hard work but worth it imo, it won't be for everyone though.

I watched The Mule with Clint Eastwood last night. It's currently one of the "free" films on Amazon Prime. A couple of years old but I haven't seen before and apparently inspired by a real 90 year old drug mule called Leo Sharp.

We thought the ending was a nice twist. Struggled for a while for which side we should be on, but decided she was worse then the gangster and her comeuppance was well deserved.
