You did watch right to the end yes....? I hated the end, until the last 20 seconds.....

she was murdered by the son of a resident she robbed
Yes I watched that far. The director just copied the end of Layer Cake

Ah. I can’t remember that so it doesn’t disappoint me.

The Catcher Was a Spy.

About a baseball player who turns spy/assassin to find out and scupper Germanies atomic bomb plans.

A bit of a slow burner and probably stretches the truth a but but another "based on a true story" so will have elements of facts in it.

If you like spy stories but don't expect elaborate special effects and chase scenes, this may be for you.

I enjoyed it.

Black Sun. Serbian crime drama. Decent plot but with a fiendishly complex period backdrop that requires some focus, not a casual watch. The historical political context is fascinating. It's very highly rated so I gave it a go, hard work but worth it imo, it won't be for everyone though.
Finished Season 1. I enjoyed it, my wife thought it was very good. Unfortunately Season 2 does not seem to be available. It's been responsible for the purchase of a set of Cokanjcici as all the hard men were drinking copious amounts of Rakija/Slivovitz from them.

Agreed. Average baseball player but exceptional spy although reading about his later efforts he doesn’t come across that well

I know it doesn't say no spoilers at the top, but come on, giving away the ending when it's still quite a recent film!

Amazon Germany but I'm guessing it'll also be on in the UK?

I watched the most enjoyable documentary I have probably ever seen yesterday, and it's from 2012!

Facing Ali.

All of the ex champs that fought Ali recount their encounters. A little under 2 hours IIRC, fascinating stuff.

‘I care a lot’ with Rosamund Pike. Really enjoyed it and certainly one of the best films so far in 2021.

I hated that bh. (The character she plays)

The whole system of guardianship in the USA is screwed up and ripe for exploitation.
6/10

Was very good until it fot silly. Ending was good too. But the silly part spoilt it

Yes, she suddenly turns from office bod to ninja and we are supposed to believe it...

She didn't even see the granny coming in for the choke from behind her.
Watched this tonight after another tedious day discussing finances and power of attorneys in care admin. Wasn’t expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. The corruption portrayed is next level scary.

I've smashed through to season 5 in no time at all. It's not like brit cop drama where they have to do the paperwork and secure actual convictions, and suspects seem to willingly spill all beans required.

But the stories are good, and enough going on for both character development and side stories to keep you (me) interested, with some great, unexpected activities here and there.

Remains my favourite TV series. Without spoilers, season 5 is something special.

Actually I’ve just realised, it says all seasons leave Prime Mar 31, so watch now or it may be a while before it’s back, or April 1.

I don’t think she turned suddenly. The characters sociopathic movements and mannerisms were disciplined and Ninja like from the start.
The scene with the choke hold was her doing. She sat and checks for the security camera and antagonises the resident in to attacking her so it’s caught on film to be used in court. Very pre meditated and calculating. Almost Ninja like.

Gone In 60 Seconds (1974)
Probably the longest car chase in film history.

My favourite road movie of that era was 1971's Vanishing Point.

I love that film but I suppose it was more of a race than a chase.
