Amazon Prime Video, what gems have you found? (NO SPOILERS)
Discussion
Picked up a Amazon Tablet 7 2017 yesterday so decided to take it on my travels, Half way through the new season of Orange Is The New Black (Sorry Netflix content) but decided to start American Gods last night.
Watched the first 2 episodes, I usually figure out whats going out quickly but this is messing with my head at the moment.

Stick with it, it sort of starts to make sense quite quickly. Then give Preacher a go.Watched the first 2 episodes, I usually figure out whats going out quickly but this is messing with my head at the moment.
I quite enjoyed Free State of Jones
"Free State of Jones is an epic action-drama set during the American Civil War, and tells the story of defiant Southern farmer".

A little off-topic, as I am talking about the new release movies you have to pay for. I was looking for the horror Get Out, and it was hidden on the forth page of 'new releases' for films. Included in the long list of film new releases are dozens of effing yoga videos, which must make up 50% of the film new releases content! Last week, it was dozens of pages made up entirely of videos for learning the effing guitar!
The crap you have to sift through to find decent stuff is getting ridiculous. (but then, I guess I could have just searched for the title..)

I see from adverts on the Amazon site, and also on the radio that tomorrow is the start of 'Prime Day' where we are promised all manner of bargains.
Are there likely to be anything in the realm of online streaming included, or is it purely for physical tat?
There are 99p movie rentals and £3.99 movies to buy.Are there likely to be anything in the realm of online streaming included, or is it purely for physical tat?

A lot of movies are being reduced in price to watch, they only start at 99p. However the proper prices are not showing until you select the film. Assassins Creed was showing as £4.49 but once you select it the price showed as $1.99. Sorry if it's been mentioned, but just finished watching 'Le Mans: Racing is Everything', a 6-part documentary about the 2015 race. It's really facinating with lots of stories all going on during the race, and you'll get to know some of the characters involved too. I particularly enjoyed some of the night-time photography...watch in UHD/HDR if you can.
+1 for 'Hell or High Water' as mentioned above, great film.

Thanks for that. I'll give it a look. https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/51/The-New-Nordic-/B01H...

As an aside, I used to quite enjoy the episodes of "Man vs Food" when he would show you the food, how it was made, and some background on it. I never really enjoyed the eating contests though.

Really enjoyed that, watched all 6 this week. Was a little bored last night, so I took a chance on 'Hell House LLC'. Not a big fan of these shaky cam/found footage films, as there has been a dearth of them, most usually crap.
However, I was surprised by this one, it wasn't too bad at all. Not great, but very watchable with a few good little scares/jumps.

I got my Firestick this week after Prime Day, and although I like the voice search thing, I'm not finding it easy to browse content.
With my BT set-top box, we'll often just scroll through the programme guide to see what is on, but I can't find that function yet with the FS. Likewise, a lot of the stuff they suggest to watch seems to be an extra subscription cost.
I had thought about replacing the BT box with the FS, but I don't think there is enough crossover to make this worthwhile.
What's the easiest way everyone has found to browse TV content on the FS?

Do you mean live TV? Firestick doesn't have that, it only has Amazon Prime content, along with the usual Catchup apps, Netflix etc, and Kodi if you want it It won't replace live TV...Or have I misunderstood what you're asking? With my BT set-top box, we'll often just scroll through the programme guide to see what is on, but I can't find that function yet with the FS. Pretty much that - I saw that it had Iplayer and ITV hub etc, but I was looking for a way to browse all available content in one place, both live and app based shows.I think i just need to spend more time using it to get used to it.

It doesn't really work that way. It's a way of accessing On Demand content, rather than a set top box where you channel hop. There isn't a concept of live streaming outside of, say, the BBC iPlayer app (which is a function of iPlayer rather than Firestick). ClockworkCupcake said:

Also, have a look at a Youview box - that allows you to look over 7 days and either record or download the TV programmes that are available to download On demand. You can buy a secondhand box for about £50 but it will not have wireless built in. https://www.youview.com/
