Just wrapped up season 2. This up there with some of my all time fave TV series.

As a poster above stated, this series moves from black and white to shades of grey. Rooting for the bad guys is always a treat in a TV show.

Enjoyed the first season but second is dross. 4 episodes in and I am thinking of giving up. Nothing much happening and bit confusing.
Push on or bin it?
Same here, I've tried and tried but it's so ponderous its difficult to keep interested in it.

Watched two more episodes and have binned it and deleted it. Enjoyed the first season but the second just didn't cut it for me. It's quite possible I'm too thick to understand exactly what's going on!

Got to agree that it does pickup in S2, but you've got to get to episode 6-7 before it does. Prior to that it's just a mishmash of various stuff that doesn't come together to anything meaningful for a while.

Stick with it - it really starts to pick up in the last few episodes. Finale in particular is excellent. Can't wait for series 3 now - plenty more mileage in this I think.

Thanks to DamienB, I stuck with it and really enjoyed episode 7 onwards. Episodes 1-6 did make sense eventually but just seemed to be ambling filler episodes. It's a shame as I think it's probably turned a whole load of people off it.

After the whole Lost series a few years back people are much more wary of sticking with something for it only to turn into a whole pile of steaming crap.

Glad to say this has really excelled itself at the end.

Can't wait for the next series now!

I was very impressed by the quality of the Japanese actors particular. The guy who plays the trade minister brought a huge amount to the role....

Yes both series are on the slow side, but I think it some of the best TV of the last few years. Can't wait till season 3.

In the book on which S1 is based he's a far more central character. But I'd agree his performance is outstanding and lends a weight and dignity to the series as well as a nice foil to the (seeming) evil of the head of the Japanese military police and the calculating coldness of the German.

He's aged a bit since Mortal Kombat

Towards the end, when Smith went down those stairs, he picks up a tape, what was it?

I think that was the vault containing all the rolls of films that Hitler had managed to collect. Guess it was just one of these?

Looking at the Grasshopper Lies Heavy label I suspect it was one of the ones that had featured earlier in the story?

Just watched the finale for s2. Although I'm looking forward to S3, I thought it was a great ending and tied up the story lines nicely and would've worked as the last ever episode if they'd decided not to recommission.
