What the fk was that ending all about
I think...the death of Smith and his right hand man taking over made the USA a ‘safe space’, so all those like Juliana and the irritating video guy were able to transition between the two worlds safely, which are now in effect joined.
Why they walked through the portal looking like lost tourists, I honestly don’t know.
I had hoped for something a bit better to be honest, it was Enterprise finale levels of bad

Do we thin the America Reich will now revert back to the USA now then?
Just finished watch S4 and I’d echo most of the comments above; It was another good series (not as good as previous ones IMHO but still definitely worth watching). However the ending was rushed, weak and meaningless. Smith turning the tables on the German Leadership in the penultimate episode was a little predictable. Kido escaping and joining the Yakuza was a little unbelievable, given that he had risked his life for what he thought was “Honourable”. Smith planning a new Holocaust and also committing suicide again felt very rushed, and Smith’s death resulting in the Americans suddenly stopping being Nazis was completely unbelievable.
The ending was confusing – why would people suddenly up and leave their own Worlds and move to the Nazi version?

IIRC wasn't the Civil Rights Movement (eg Martin Luther Kind et al) seen as Communists?
I know it’s something that MLK feared becoming associated with due to the anti-Soviet sentiment, and it was used by the government to investigate and discredit the movement. From what I’ve read I get the impression he was socialist ‘lite’ in that he didn’t believe in either communism (not compatible with Christianity and too controlling) or capitalism (saw it as starting well but ended with money for just the few as evidenced by the huge poverty at the time) and preferred that middle ground... like most people really.

I am most of the way thought series two and its a struggle. It just feels so depressing and they have deliberately gone with a colour palate to match. Is it worth continuing, does it get any better?

Just caught up with this. Watched all 40 episodes in 7 days.
Loved being emmersed in this strange world, well acted and great production but....
Like a lot of these long running series, the last episode feels rushed. There were a lot of slow one hour segments yet suddenly everything needs to be wrapped up.
Unsatisfactory ending and might as well have been a story told over 3 hours, length of a long film.
Shame as I really enjoyed it and it has been the first telly thing that held my attention in a very long time.
In fact the last time I binge watched a series was 6ft Under and Breaking Bad before that.

I watched Series 1-2 when they came out and then went off it, Have watched it all again and echo some of the comments above.
The ending was weak.
I'm watching this now. Half way through season 2.The ending was weak.
Not sure I'll get much further. It's poor.
Don't care about any of the characters. Finding the whole thing dull rather than depressing....and have a feeling of deja vu with Lost, which I managed one season of way back when....I'm assuming this will get equally silly.
