It's also been 7 days since an episode was last released. Which is unusual given the frequency of output of recent years. Might be something, might not - there might be a simple explanation.

P1ss poor behaviour by Spotify to be injecting ads into the "ad free" Premium accounts though.

His studios are in Texas - that may possibly have something to do with it ......

It had occurred to me.

But c'mon, this is Joe Rogan - the man with 5000 freezer rooms of elk meat which he hunted with his own hands. The man who constantly preaches about being self sufficient.
He has his own generators and backups for sure.

I did a quick search, and posts on Reddit are suggesting he was back in California this week, and he did some live chats on Clubhouse too apparently, in conjunction with some of his long standing compadres.

I think maybe with storms and rolling blackouts maybe most of his guests have other priorities, travel is disrupted etc?

Were his podcasts ever continuous as in every few days? I tend to drop in and out as a lot of the guests are of lesser interest to me.

I'm not in any way serious, just joking about.

They had been releasing podcasts every 2-3 days, sometimes 3-4 in a week.

So a new episode with one of his comedy pals was released overnight. I don't bother listening to the episodes with comedians, but listened to between 10 and fifteen minutes of this one, to get a feel for when it was recorded. It was recorded Friday, and released Saturday night. Eight minutes into it Tim Dillon keeps dropping Clubhouse into it repeatedly, which Joe admits being invited to but hasn't looked at as he's too busy.

What happens next is Rogan and Dillon under the influence of alcohol ended up on Clubhouse after the podcast recording had finished. And Clubhouse experienced a minor explosion because Rogan had joined at last. I listened to a 20 min clip of it on YouTube, and it's mostly just meaningless waffle, but he did describe himself as a "semi-prepper" and how because of his setup with 4x4 vehicles and his property's infrastructure they luckily weren't impacted all that much by the Texas storms.

That 20 min clip is below, but it's pretty much just ste talk;

I’m fed up with Spotify so I’ve cancelled premium. I used to listen regularly but will probs not bother searching it out now.

I signed up to Spotify for music. Jre wasn't expected.

Did you sign up just for Jre or something?

I signed up for music, I’m not sure how long I’ve had premium but at least a couple of years.

I’ve never been that impressed with the app.

I find it slick on the macbook pro and completely cumbersome on windows 10.

Really not that interested in the JRE show now that it's on spotify though. Something annoying about the set up. He probably doesn't give a st anyway because he's made his money but I reckon his ratings are going to start dropping right off now.

He is progressively alienating his fan base imo. Shame really because it was pretty good entertainment but nothing stays the same forever I suppose.

Never mind, Tom Green is up and running!

I've been working through it a piece at a time. About 1 hour remaining to listen through now. There's a lot in it. Including what I sense is frustration raising its head quite frequently.

I enjoyed it for the most part.
Got a bit frustrated during the subjectivity v objectivity of music/art/beauty interlude. they couldn't seem to grasp each others points.
I understood straight away what Bret was talking about with the initial beauty of the scientific theory being obscured by experiment point, but Joe couldn't grasp it & Bret couldn't make it clear to him. Which let to the frustrating 20min or so.

The Spotify app is still a POS though. Very slow and could be a lot simpler. I have heard Joe mention a few weeks ago that changes are afoot for it, so can only be good.

Is that objectively or subjectively true? Either way there is beauty in that statement. biggrinbeer

I'm very late to finding JRE, but now listening to a couple a week in the truck.

So far, Elon Musk is incredible. I listened to Marcus Luttrell today which was brilliant.

I've only listened to Elon since he moved over to Spotify. I listen to all my podcasts through the Apple app on my iPhone and (sadly) often forget that JRE exists nowadays.
