he had lance armstrong on last nights podcast, not had a listen yet, but very intrigued to hear him. Dont know how rogan will approach the interview, dont know if he'll roast him over the drugs (he's got strong opinions on the guys in the ufc doing it). off to listen just now.

This is great - all the recommendations have been brilliant so far. Will definitely give the Armstrong one a listen as I used to be a fan of his until the truth came out.

JRE #277 - Victor Conte - He of the Balco Labs scandal is another interesting 'drugs in sport' discussion.

A couple of podcasts with Dr Carl Hart are general drugs discussions. Well worth a listen.

Still listening to the Armstrong interview. Trying to keep an open mind and listen but it's hard work because I bought in to him...

Any who... Who is the guy they are referencing that works for the government to bring prosecutions? I thought they said something like
Livitski but I can't find anything close on Google. I get the impression Joe did a podcast with him but again, I can't find anything.

If you are going to disappear down a drugs in sport/general addiction/brain chemistry/hormones rabbit hole then Novitzky
Victor Conte
Carl Hart
Rhonda Patrick - one of my favourite guests
Mark Gordon - doing a lot of work with ex soldiers dealing with brain injury and PTSD and how it relates to hormonal issues.

I've only just stumbled across these.... and I'm obviously late to the party as there are about 500+ episodes already out there. So far I've listened to the ones that focus on weird stuff (UFOs, Bigfoot, Paranormal stuff) as I find it really interesting and enjoy the way that Joe is both interested but quick to question stuff.

Anyone else got any suggestions for episodes worth listening to? (at 1.5 - 3hrs each, I'm not likely to listen to all of them so want to cherry pick the best)

Cheers

JD
Listened to the Graham Hancock ones?

Got half way through one on the way home today. They are discussing psycodelics, floatation tanks and ancient civilisations.... So quite diverse but very interesting!

Thanks to someone mentioning it above, I am halfway through, Joe Rogan Experience #725 - Graham Hancock & Randall Carlson.
Very very good, more so because I have just finished Graham's latest book, Magician of the Gods. Which has updated info on pushing back civilisation to much further than the accepted paradigm allows. Also with reasons that tie into why it went away, that funnily enough ties into climate change and the Younger Dryas Period.
Just got to the part in the podcast where Graham explains how the terms 'climatechnage-denier' and 'pseudo-scientist' are hurled as slurs to shut down any talk and ignore any avenues that lead away from the paradigm. One just has to go into the Science! forum righthere and see how posters use the pseudo-scientist attack. Most interesting.

I find his podcasts entertaining but his always correct on everything, smartest bloke in the room schtick does wear thin at times. This is a man who doesn't think man landed on the moon yet when Chris Hadfield or Brian Cox turn up, the topic never arises. smile

That's weird, in an episode I listened to last week he was very much anti-conspiracy theories about the moon landings?!? (I am listening to them in a sporadic order though)

I really like JRE and he has gotten far better with his podcasts in the last year.

I liked the Steve Rinella one (hunting guy, comes across really well), wim hof, Dr Carl Hart and the special ops guy, can't remember his name.

The Neil degrasse Tyson episode I think he was referring to? That was a real let down tbh. I love ndgt and Joe wasn't great on that ep.

I've been getting into his pod casts a lot recently, some are a bit hit and miss, but some have me laughing out loud in my car on my own. definitely make long journeys pass quickly!

ones off the top of my head that i enjoyed are:

  1. 717- steve-o (jackass)
  2. 692- Jay Leno
  3. 686- Jeff Ross(comedian from celebrity roasts)
  4. 661- Rutledge Wood (american top gear)
  5. 633- Alex Winter (bill s preston (aka bill and ted) made some fascinating documentary on the dark web)
  6. 610- Brian Cox (of D-ream and science)
  7. 597- Magnus Walker + Alex Ross (porsche/ gumball stuff)
  8. 589- chris harris
  9. 569- Joe Perry (aerosmith)
  10. 535- Scroobius Pip (british musician/ spoken word artist, also has his own awesome podcast series- distraction pieces)
  11. 526- isaac haxton (professional high stakes/ on-line poker player)
  12. 473- Jim Jefferies (aussie comedian)
  13. 463- Louis Theroux
jesus, there's loads of awesome ones and I've hardly listened any random ones..... Also on top of these I love the ones with Joey 'coco' diaz, he is a very funny guy, does stand up shows with rogan quite regularly.

But my favourite ones are just with Rogan and redban, brian redban is usually there in the background, but they often do podcasts just them talking about random stuff in the news/ on the net. the last one i listened to, they must've been hitting the smoke very hard, they were off chatting some very random stuff, and at one point during a rogan rant about something, you can hear redbans lighter sparking and bong bubbling away in the background......makes for some very funny listening!
Thanks. Like Jay Leno and never knew he was on the show and loved him talking about mob involvement in clubs and comedy.

Decided to download a couple of episodes listed above. I'd previously enjoyed the Chris Harris episode but wasn't very keen on the recent Lance Armstrong episode.

Was looking through Youtube last night and found on the 'Powerful JRE' channel that he has put up a review/best of 2015, clips of most of the people he's had in over the last year, and funny bits. About 45mins long but very good to see who's been in and what they actually look like (if you don't watch the podcasts).

Top tip - thanks, I'll check that out.

I also listened to the Alex Winter one today (#633) about the deep web.... really enjoyed it, found it very interesting and am going to watch the documentary discussed in the episode.
