I can generally take or leave JRE. When they're good, they're good (like Cowboy's cave diving experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=or92IMcLoIc), but there's a lot of dross in between.

I did however really enjoy the recent #1491 with Bill Burr. BB plays the angry man so well and there are some genuine lol moments plus lots of car stuff as well.

Entertaining listening whilst diy'ing.

I think that's the beauty of the JRE that it has something for everyone.

Bill Burr was great. As is the one with the two sopranos actors. Personally I don't care much for MMA stuff or when he gets too baked. It's opened my eyes to how boring and stupid stoners actually come across when seen the eyes of a straight person.

He does love a good elk and DMT tale though which is becoming a bit tiresome.

I thought that was a brilliant podcast, I was out a walk listening away on my head phones and had a few proper laugh out loud to myself moments! he had a good few digs at rogan, i think my favourite was when rogan said he’s never been roller blading and burr straight away replies saying- of course you haven’t, you don’t have the build for it, sure you could use the extra couple of inches but your knuckles would still drag along the floor! genius and so quick off the mark

I usually enjoy the podcast as it is an easy way to listen to alternate points of view without them being filtered a couple of dozen times and made media safe.

But I don't particular enjoy the ones where Joe has obviously been taking too much of whatever he enjoys. I am not clued up on drugs so I don't know what he takes but it was obvious that on the recent one with Duncan Trussell that he was up there with the fairies and he came across as pretty boorish and obnoxious to me. Spotify said they would be hands off with Joe but I hope someone has a word in his ear and tells him to moderate his substance use.

Mike Tyson next so I look forward to that one when I catch up on Monday.

Dr Deborah Soh #1520

An excellent discussion on the issues surrounding gender, identity, the definition of Sex, militant gender change and the future of gender reassignment.

Not a subject I’m very up on - eye opening to say the least. There are some odd people out there but the extremist gender change people are dangerous in the extreme.

Does anyone know how to get the old episodes through iTunes/podcasts on iPhone, I only seem to be able to go back to around episode 1277, I would like to download the old Brian Cox ones. I am going to be spending 20 hours in the car with my Dad next week and I think he would enjoy them.

Burr is hilarious. Probably my favourite comedian.

Ironically I don't enjoy Rogan's stand up but love his podcast.

I was listening to the Brian Cox ep last week, very enjoyable indeed. Takes a bit of "getting your head around" ,the "black hole" podcast is awesome.

Some episodes of the podcast that feature the more problematic guests are missing from Spotify. This is hardly surprising, although Rogan did say the move wouldn't result in censorship...

Well, the new studio isn't going down well - the youtube/reddit comments say it all.

oh dear!

Why did he change it? Nothing screams we've changed overlord than a ceedy red tube studio - is it meant to be edgy?

Also why is he so baked or drunk in the latest??

I think it comes down to the camera zoom and angle, saturation, background contrast. These things were clearly not tested enough before putting out the first recording from there. The sound seems a little harsher too.

Ha ha people have been cutting loose on that new studio in the youtube comments and on reddit. It is rather strange though - you'd think that he has a decent sized facility to put all his stuff in and wouldn't have to build such a tiny space.

Surely he wants it tiny and intimate?

Besides the rest of the property is taken up by 200 industrial freezers filled with Elk meat.

I don't get the hate for the new studio. It's different thats all. No headphones seems better.
