Soo......

I restarted Bosch from series 1. I was apprehensive that it would seem too recent but I'm picking up on the veiled hatred in some characters, the tension. I missed this the first time etc etc.

Great to (re)watch. Don't think I'll be finished by the end of the month though so post then I'll bail this topic until I've eventually seen series 7

I have recently started re-reading the Bosch books, but haven't see any of the TV series yet , do they follow the stories in the books?

See the Wikipedia page which lists which book(s) each season is based on.

I haven't read the books but from what I read they follow the topic/basic narrative but do not follow the exact details.

I’d be inclined to say they’re more than just the topic / basic narrative, barely any modern TV adaptation follows the book exactly, but they’re pretty close with detail changes.

The other thing to mention is that easy season will cover 2 or 3 books and mixes them up so a couple of threads of each story are running concurrently. It’s very well done however.

I put the trailer on this morning, but had to stop it, too many plot clues! I don't want to see what's coming up!!
Don't watch it!

I alway a bad idea to watch American trailers. They're just the Reader's Digest version of the entire show.

Without giving any detail at all - what's series 7 like? Same Bosch or better, weaker story lines?

I avoid trailers now. Some of the are absolutely ridiculous! Like you say, pretty much give you the entire film or show condensed into 1 minute!

Nearly through. So far, the usual multiple threads are weaving nicely, and Harry is as driven and grumpy as usual. Could probably have done with rewatching s1-6 to catch up on the various peripheral characters.

Only got part way through ep 2 and hooked once again. Crate has gained some timber.

One thing but, if you read the books, Connelly lists various restaurants and food stalls that Bosch and co visit because they are noted as being at the top of the game in various cuisines and street foods. It always struck me that it might be an interesting exercise if on holiday / travelling in and around LA to visit some of these, a bit like a Bosch version of 'Diners, Drive Ins and Dives' or the Canadian 'You Gotta Eat Here.' Not sure if it will be possible after Covid, will they still be there, but did google a few from the books pre Covid and they always seemed to get a good write up from customers.

What a grand idea. I’ve read all the books but I can’t remember the majority of the restaurants - any chance you could list them?

It would be a real job, but an opportunity to go through the books again that I think you should not deny yourself.

However for starters, here's one, a diner connected to a car dealer, can you get more PH than that? Ok a Ford dealer admittedly but...

Hollywood's best taco and burrito truck.

There's a list on yelp, https://www.yelp.com/collection/SGAGHi6DtCMhyv49TG...

Loads of Bosch lists can be googled, it's not that original an idea to be honest.

Problem is times change, I really wanted to go to Musso and Frank's grill, but spent the next day upchucking, to be fair it could have been the airline's fault.

Just finished the final episode.

Enjoyed it a lot, as per all the other series.

At least we know what the next Bosch series will be about now!
