Game of Thrones - vol II - NO SPOILERS
Discussion
THe walkers could go away if they achieve their goal, whatever that is. Or the Night King dies and his army all fall down.

I think short eps have been as low as 48 mins, but long ones can go over 60.
had a quick look.
"The seventh season of the series includes its longest episode, with the finale running for 81 minutes. The penultimate episode also runs for 71 minutes – around 16 minutes longer than an average Game of Thrones episode."
""Season 8 episodes will all I think be longer than 60 minutes. They'll be dancing around the bigger numbers, I know that for sure," Nutter responded when asked about how long the episodes will be."

It's going to be an immense rush.
Even compared to season 7 with it's convenient teleporting around the place.
I'm set for disappointment, and GRRM to never actually finish the books. Ah well.
Yeah, and yeah.Even compared to season 7 with it's convenient teleporting around the place.

But I'll bet you a dollar that the next book gets released soon after the last ep airs.

That still leaves 1-2 to go, and at a decade per book (with Martin saying he's getting more interested in other things) there's little chance he'll make it!

Still looking forward to it and I also think this will be the only ending we will get. Without seasson 7's teleporting the series would have gone the same way as the books with GRRM unable to work out how to move the plot along, which is why I doubt GRRM will finish the books . GRRM also seems more motiviated to ride prequels and side stories.
I think the prequel/sequel juggerbaut is mostly out of his hands now.
ONe theory on the wait, besides the waiting for the series to end, is that he's been editing/changing aspects of the story, to differ from the series. I find that intriguing and plausible, considering GRR's personality.
Can't recall for sure, but I think a lot of book 6 was written years ago. SOmething needs to account for the wait.

I doubt thatThe reason why S7 was so messed up was partly the teleporting and partly the refusal to follow one obvious plot point of GRRM's future books in that Cersei will be dead some time before the end.
Without time wasted on "catching wights" or meetings with Cersei you could have had a decent season long arc with less teleporting.

Cant say i'm that looking forward to it. D&D are good adapters but hack writers. The problem with the show now is awful writing and given massive, and often pointless, changes there is no certainty that anything on the screen will be GRRMs original vision.

I cannot imagine the intended book arc followed the same path as the show - there were too many differences by Season 4.ONe theory on the wait, besides the waiting for the series to end, is that he's been editing/changing aspects of the story, to differ from the series. I think all that accounts for the wait is that he's the slowest bloody writer in history, and won't release anything unless he's absolutely satisfied.
Five years for A Feast for Crows, and six for A Dance with Dragons, with no reason relating to the show.
He's just not a completer. It seems for him he's too busy articulating the world and it's history/culture, rather than actually telling a story.
