Goldfinger now ITV 4 or in an hour on ITV4+1
Tania Mallet, the actress who played Tilly Masterson in the film, passed away just a few days ago. I don't think it was mentioned here already. RIP.

You'll be delighted to hear that the producers have already addressed this particular beef of yours.

They've been on, ITV run them in order.
DAF was censored for it's early screening.

Err yes they may have been on But at the moment there are 2 almost simultaneous showings that you are obviously unaware of.
ITV 1 at the weekends
ITV 4 late Wednesday/ Thursday evenings
ITV1 is currently about to show Moonraker tomorrow afternoon
ITV4 has just done Thunderball which to correct my earlier post means that the next one they will show is actually You Only Live Twice this coming Wednesday 24th at 9pm. In fact they have just started showing the Casino Royal spoof right now. Thjey will show Casino Royale again tomorrow and they normally reshow the evening one a couple of nights later at a slightly different time slot

To further add flavour ITV 2 seem to pop on the Daniel Craig ones in an evening slot

I remember when they used to be shown on TV maybe once a year then 9 months or so. It took Dr No some 13 or 14 years to appear first on ITV. It's at the back of my mind that the BBC showed a couple some years back I think Dr No and From Russia With Love.

yes
The digitally restored versions were both shown on BBC2 on consecutive Sunday evenings following their release.

Thank you for that. It did confuse me a little as I thought hmmm ITV have 'em
I believe some years ago Sky nabbed them. they are simply now a staple of TV and TBH I think ITV have squandered their showings sometimes
It used to be (ok the 70s to mid 80s ) that a Bond Film may debut at Christmas if not on the day then very near
Home Rentals obviously changed all that

Sky took the rights for the 50th anniversary year only and ran the films consecutively on a dedicated channel 24-7. Most people didn't notice because all of the Bond hype that year was around Skyfall.

I've been watching all of them since ITV1 started this recent run but somehow missed Live and Let Die so am keeping an eye out for when it pops up on ITV4 which should be soon.

Turns out, I either hadn't seen most of or all of the Connery ones and some of the Moore ones so this has been really enjoyable particularly as I'm really analysing and being critical of each one but also being sympathetic to when they were filmed/released.

Your sympathies may be stretched when you turn to Octopussy and see Bond made up as a clown. Ditto the scene where he gets shagged by Grace Jones in A View To A Kill - her dialogue in this scene reduces me to laughter

On a side issue here is my guide to Bond on TV

Sean Connery , George Lazenby , Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton - ITV 1 and ITV 4 daytime or evening
Pierce Brosnan - ITV 4 predominantly occasionally ITV 1 - Evening slots
Daniel Craig ITV 1 or ITV 2 evening slots

Grace Jones walks into his bedroom and strips naked.
Bond: “A woman of few words.”
Jones: “What is there to say?”

When you have an actress of her talent, the fewer lines the better.

I forgive Octopussy because I remember how effective the clown Bond scene was in the cinema. The audience collectively breathed an audible sigh of relief when he defused the bomb. Quite an achievement, considering it’s a Bond film, so obviously the bomb was never going to explode.

On the other hand, the tiger hunting scene is irredeemably terrible.

Only trumped in the dated cultural references stakes by the appearance of 'Maggie Thatcher/Janet Brown' at the end of the otherwise extremely commendable and underrated For Your Eyes Only.

It might have stood the test of time better if they had got the infinitely better Thatcher impersonator Steve Nallon to do the piece.

My wife was wondering why I was laughing so much reading your post It's silly but it really does reduce me to tears when I see it. And in the corridor you have the Max Zorin character urging her to get in the bedroom like a pimp. Totally cracks me up everytime
