I never watched Age of Apocalypse so I didn't know how that changed things.
Yeah I was hoping they wouldn't use the same old alternate timeline shtick. At least the tone of this one appears to be a little different, if the trailer is anything to go by of course.

AoA didn't change anything really as it's set in the past and pretty much all wrapped up by the end of it. The trailers promised something a lot more, well Apocalyptic but it pretty much ends up being a monster of the week feature with no major upheavals . in fact I can't even remember much of it and I only watched it a few months ago. Pretty poor film IMO.

Theyve said its set far in the future when all of the mutants have died out naturally with Logan being the last one, until this girl turns up.

How Prof X is alive still i dont know, also their hinting at Deadpool 2 having Wolverine in

Not THAT far into the future, stuff I've read says it's based in 2029 so not really enough time for them all to die of natural causes. Plus there are quite a few mutants who are effectively immortal so just wonder what logical gymnastics they'll go through to make Logan and Xavier the last ones?

God knows. What happens in Old Man Logan made sense in context from what I can see, stripping the story down to remove a lot of that wrapper might just break the logic.

I'll give it a chance not to be utter nonsense as there are some good bits in there.

Both red band trailers look fantastic and the music choice is superb.

It's just jumped very high on my list of most anticipated movies of the year and good to see such an iconic character hopefully getting the movie he deserves after the last 2 half-arsed attempts.

Take your average Wolverine film. Now forget it. Now imagine a bleak, painful, violent, emotional rollercoaster of a film and you're about halfway there. Absolutely brutal and brilliant.

Have read the reviews and all are positive and make it sound great. A dark emotional violent western more than a superhero film.

Though some reviews are full of spoilers so best not read them.

This is exactly what it is. The Wolverine film we've all been waiting for.

I sat with my jaw open, laughed, cried and cheered all in 140mins.

I won't be posting any spoilers until after general release in 2 weeks.

Saw this tonight as well.

Very good indeed. Finally a proper film to suit the character. Thoroughly enjoyable.

And the fight scenes were brutal hehe
