I hope they cancel it as it was generally pretty poor against past TG shows. Maybe they might actually spend a bit more effort next time where ever they end up.

Since they are being shown on an "all you can eat" subscription service, why do you care if it is cancelled or not? What difference would it make to you?

I stopped subscribing as it was pretty poor. I hope they move it to another medium so as to produce a better quality product. The stuff made at the BBC era was so much better.

Oh, I see what you mean. You hope Amazon cancel it, and it is then picked up by someone else other than Amazon, so that you can watch it without an Amazon subscription. Fair enough.

I love the way people are vigorously pointing out that three series is all they were contracted to do how it doesn't mean "the end" and the papers are just printing what everyone knew already.

You could also say that Lewis Hamilton will retire at the end of this season because he hasn't yet renewed his contract with Mercedes.
Not quite the same.

Lewis is still winning races, so if he couldn't secure a contract with anyone for 2019. It would be down to money or negotiations. Or perhaps his OWN choice to retire. He's still a desireable asset.

Whereas TGT would be "not renewed" due to "not being as good as we hoped for" laugh

You never know, the BBC might try and get Clarkson and co back once Amazon Prime's contract in finished. The BBC may deem Clarkson as having "served" his punishment and happily welcome him back.

Obviously there are other factors (money) to consider too.

No chance.

He's a liability, and the new lineup is starting to find its feet and is undoubtedly considerably cheaper.

James May already does other bits of business with the BBC, and has done throughout the switch of TG to Amazon, so that will continue regardless.

Again no chance, that ship has sailed under a hugely burnt bridge.

I imagine the BBC will enjoy the schadenfreude that Clarkson and Willman went to Amazon and weren't quite as good as they thought they were...

As above, May is still relatively untarnished. So could return for his occasional series'

Who knows where Hammond will surface.

The rumoured 1.5million new subscriber the show has brought in for Amazon might suggest your a bit off the mark there.

Financially speaking, I'm sure they would love to have them back. But politics will make it difficult, so very unlikely.
