Are they rebooting Spiderman again?

Yes/no/sort of.

Spider-Man has been under Sony's control. It made the Toby Maguire trilogy and then the two Andrew Garfield reboots. Then Marvel negotiated the rights back so it could use Spider-Man in the two part third Avengers Infinity War films - hence Spider-Man had a cameo in Captain America: Civil War, where Tom Holland played the part. The deal evidently included at least one Spiedy solo movie, which is this one.

My level of knowledge about this is higher than is healthy.

Sony finally buckled when they failed to create their own shared cinematic universe. Thankfully the first reboot tanked...YES!!! And so SOny realised they hadn't got a clue what they were doing and went back to Marvel...but the dirty s are holding into Venom.

I wonder if the film will start with him kicking ass, then suffer a set back in the middle, before ultimately winning at the end.

Oh, so might Tom Cruise be starring as Spiderman? wink

As did I. Beetlejuice is the Vulture, and he seems pretty dangerous....nice choice.

This new SPidey certainly has the annoying aspect of Spidey down pat...I'm looking forward to this, and I am being picky over my Marvel interest now.

I've been looking forward to this ever since we saw Spidey in action during Civil War.

Tobey Maguire (emo-phase in 3 excluded) made for a reasonably good Peter Parker, but a terrible Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield was a decent Spider-Man, but off the mark as Peter Parker. Tom Holland seems to have nailed both aspects from what we saw in Civil War and what tidbits we've been shown in this trailer.

Hopefully we'll also be sidestepping his origin story - we don't need yet another retelling of how Uncle Ben dies!

Well the fact he is already SPider-Man might help.
I wouldn't mind a short flashback, might offer a sweet cameo for a big name.

All depends if he gets to meet a good looking woman about two thirds in...

He'll have a crisis of confidence first.

Oh hell yeah this looks brilliant, as a lifelong Spidey fan this is what ive been waiting for. Tom seems to be the perfect Peter and spider-man. love the fact that he spends much of the film in his own homemade costume too by the looks of it. I remember a lot of folk saying with the last films how could a kid make these costumes..well its possible and some have , but this grounds it and makes it more believable . Keaton looks amazing as the vulture too. just looks amazing... and theres under arm webbage too !!!!!!!!!

Looks pretty cool - another slam dunk for Marvel.......?

Just watched the Justice league trailer too.......and it just feels lame somehow. I don't have high hopes for it. DC just don't seem to be able to capture the same magic that Marvel have (that said - Wonder Woman does look pretty cool)
