I was never really into old Crystal Maze but wanted to give it a new try.

Disappointed with the z list sleb selection but what do you expect from C4 ?

Louis Spence ,speechless.

Never heard of the Essex woman,TOWIE ?
Yes, Towie.

Louis Spence is a one-trick pony, and it should have gone to the knackers yard years ago. It's gone way past being mildly amusing - if you can't do anything else Louis, just flounce off into a darkened room and stay there.

Watching it on channel 4 player, is there a way to get rid of th voice over which I assume caters for blind people but is fking annoying.

Enjoyed that a lot. Aoyade is considerably better than Ed Tudor-Pole was and approached the hallowed greatness of Reckless Rick

There are no condemnations of how hateful Spence is that haven't already been written, so I won't bother

Aoyade was good, not as good as I thought he'd be, maybe he'll grow into it.

The Spence character was annoying and plain bizarre.
Everyone else was a grey mist

Not wanting to let the cat out of the bag, but Joey Essex is appearing - what chance he's allocated a "skill" game?

Best thing is to give him a colouring book and hope he stays inside the lines.

Yes ,he is in the barrel scraping category.

I'm not highly intelligent but he is thick beyond comprehension.

I thought the challenges were ridiculously easy compared to the old show, yet somehow the celebrities made a pig's ear of it.

Channel 4 has a crystal maze special from last year online that I thought was much better.

Not as good as I was hoping. I think Richard Aoyade has the makings of a good presenter, but the 'celebrities' seem to be hamming it up for the camera and generally dicking around, plus I assume they've been randomly thrown together so no real chemistry between them.

Fingers crossed when they get onto episodes with normal people off the street it'll improve.

I was really excited about this. Sat down on Sunday morning to watch it with my Daughter and turned it off after about 10 minutes. What utter st it was! I quite liked Richard Ayoade but that was about it. Get rid of the "celebs" and get some regular contestants on there quick C4. I think I'll wait until these celeb specials (special being the operative word for that lot!) to finish and then give it another try on the usual format.

I've long maintained that no matter how st a programme is in the first place, it can always be made worse by putting so-called celebrities in.

Another vote for waiting until the non-celeb episodes start, before watching it again.

I have a feeling Moss ... sorry, Richard, is going to be quite good in this.

Plus Scarlett Moffatt, Jodie Kidd, Joey Essex, Steve Jones C4 voiceover / presenter bod.

Can't be anyone as annoying as Louie Walsh, surely.

Sorry that's a joke from our house that's gone a bit astray. You had to be there.
