Just watching the Karmann Ghia episode the other day, Fuzz said to Tim to give the starter a tap and he was hitting the dynamo

I haven't seen the Lancia episode yet as I'm on normal TV, but it was at Oulton Park yesterday in the rain. I didn't get a close look at it.

I watched it on someone else's box the other day, felt really sorry for the family, but couldn't help but wonder how many warnings Gary had ignored.
He was a big lad.

Watched the GT6 episode and it was great the owner got to enjoy it before he passed. Nice his boys now have it (I assume anyway) to remember their Dad by.

I really enjoy this series and find myself shedding a tear every episode.

I wonder how the family and car are selected? Assume he show doesn’t want to repeat a previously restored car model

Must be hard.

I suspect people just ring them up and ask, they must need some careful vetting to check they aren't taking the piss though.

To start with I was wondering why they were doing a car for Johnny Foreigner, then I heard his story and saw his face at the end. When he said he would be going on holiday on his own .... cry

That was probably a mate of mine actually, we live within spitting distance of oulton and it gets used properly, regardless of weather.

Yes, after a few less than deserving recipients of Car SOS's largesse (AC Aceca, Aston Martin, Datsun 240Z), it's nice to see some people who give the tear ducts a bit of a work out.
Possibly the producers were more interested in the cars than the back story of their owners

I think this series has shown a side to Tim that we've not been fully exposed to in previous series. Maybe because in the past it's been left on the cutting room floor, and the producers are leaving it in now because of the flack he gets for the 'haggling' scenes? Whatever the reason I for one am pleased to see it being included. What I'm talking about can be demonstrated perfectly in that DS scene at the end when Roger is talking about how he was married for 72 years, how his wife died two years ago and going on holiday alone... sure, he's shown emotion before, but in that scene especially you can see the genuine sadness & sorrow in Tim's face, and you can hear it in his dialogue. His eyes well up, and you can see that he's so proud of the work the CSOS team have done.

It's the only car show left that I avidly watch and look forward to.

+1

Tim is a bit mental and I can see why he annoys, but a very genuine bloke imo

Nice Capri last night, they went to town on it too with 220 bhp on tap after the Ric Wood rebuild.
It was a shame they found it wasn't a genuine RS but what a lovely car once finished and the lady owner looked genuinely over the moon with it. I'd be very proud of it if it were mine.
I know there are some haters on here for Tim but I think he seems a genuine tidy fella and has a good rapport with Fuzz.
Really enjoy this show.smile

I'd not heard of Ric Wood before.....some lovely motors in his workshop and he's doing 4litre conversions with 4 valves per cylinder pushing out 400bhp.Not to be sniffed at when the original essex was only 138bhp.
My only gripe with the SOS Capri was the wings were bolted on ....grp perhaps ?.....and it didn't have any wing/door mirrors which would make it pretty unsafe on the road....and quite possibly an mot failure,no ?

That Capri pre-dates their requirement.
